As more people become famous on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Twitch, it’s common to see them appearing on traditional TV. Many have been guests on talk shows, and some have even starred in commercials.
During an NBA game between the Spurs and Kings, a commercial featured IShowSpeed’s face, voice, and logo. The ad encouraged viewers to scan a QR code that was displayed on the screen.
Many fans noticed the content online and wondered if it was genuine or created using artificial intelligence.

Slipperz responds as IShowSpeed used in fake ad
Shortly after the show aired, Speed’s cameraman, Slipperz, reacted with disbelief, tweeting, “This was on TV?????!”
Several viewers let the cameraman know the ad played during a FanDuel game stream, and others reported seeing it on Twitch as well.
He expressed disbelief and thanked the person who informed him about the company’s public mistake, saying, “I can’t believe they messed up so badly and everyone saw it! Thanks for pointing it out.”

Slipperz responded to a question about whether Speed had partnered with an AI company, stating that the related advertisement was illegal and would be dealt with.

Although the voice sounds convincingly like Speed, the video itself clearly shows it’s not genuine. The ad uses a clip from his GQ interview on YouTube, and viewers will immediately recognize it.
Ugh, I keep seeing these scam ads online, and it’s seriously annoying. They’re always using popular esports players or streamers to trick people into thinking they can get free Bitcoin or other crypto. It’s a really shady tactic, and I wish they’d just stop!
Whether the ad will appear anywhere else is uncertain, but Speed’s team has definitely seen it and is now aware of its existence.
