Actor Nathan Fillion, known for “The Rookie,” admitted that working on his past crime drama series, “Castle,” became incredibly taxing at times. He found himself overwhelmed by the rigorous demands of the project, eventually losing his initial excitement for it and, as a result, slipping into poor physical condition.
Fans primarily came to know Nathan Fillion through the show “Castle,” not “The Rookie.” It was a crime series where he acted alongside Stana Katic. The plot revolved around murders inspired by a serial killer, who modeled his crimes on Richard Castle’s novels. During his appearance on the Inside of You podcast, Fillion shared that while he enjoyed working with the cast, he struggled with the heavy workload, finding it overwhelming and difficult to manage.
The castle was overwhelming, primarily due to its demanding schedule. That schedule was relentless. Often, it required five days, and even six on some occasions.
As the years roll by, I find myself appearing more and more exhausted and puffy in photos. Time seems to have taken its toll on me, leaving me feeling a bit heavier and drained. This is just a testament to the passage of time, as my life experiences accumulate and leave their mark on my physical appearance.
Fillion explains that his ability to persevere came from knowing that the project would eventually conclude. Seeing a glimmer of hope, symbolized by a light at the end of the tunnel, gave him the resolve not to abandon the project despite the stress it brought.
The hit TV show “Castle” spanned over eight seasons, with subsequent seasons featuring more than twenty episodes apiece. This suggests that the production process was undoubtedly labor-intensive. Given that a fresh season arrived annually, the team behind the scenes and on-screen couldn’t afford any delays, making their work schedule undeniably demanding.
