As a lifelong Star Wars enthusiast who’s spent countless hours navigating the galaxy far, far away, I can barely contain my excitement for Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world adventure, Star Wars Outlaws! The chance to explore the seedy underbelly of this beloved universe is like a dream come true.
Prior to its launch towards the end of this month, Ubisoft has disclosed additional information about the post-release content for Star Wars Outlaws. As was earlier announced, there will be two forthcoming story expansions. These can be obtained either by purchasing the season pass or individually.
Season-pass holders can look forward to a unique mission titled “Jabba’s Gambit,” which they can access after meeting with the notorious crime lord. Ubisoft has confirmed that all players will get a chance to interact with the Hutt Cartel’s leader, similar to earlier statements suggesting this mission was initially exclusive to season-pass owners.
In Fall 2024, Ubisoft plans to debut an additional chapter in the story, titled “Wild Card.” In this installment, protagonist Kay Vess will participate in a significant Sabacc competition. Along the way, she encounters the cunning and charismatic gambler Lando Calrissian. It quickly becomes apparent to Kay that the tournament masks something more than just a simple game of chance.
In the year 2025, a Pirate’s Wealth is set to arrive, and the narrative unfolds with Kay encountering the notorious Hondo Ohnaka. This character has some unfinished business with space pirates in the past. Hondo Ohnaka is recognized from various Star Wars TV shows such as Clone Wars and Rebels, and if his animated portrayal serves as any indication, you might find a few instances of betrayal or deceit coming from this cunning, yet charming, self-centered character.
The game titled “Star Wars Outlaws” is set to release on August 30 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. This open-world game from Ubisoft drops you into the murky depths of the Star Wars universe, where you play as a rogue attempting the greatest heist ever. As Phil Hornshaw from TopMob described in his preview, “Star Wars Outlaws” feels vast and offers enjoyment and promise in exploring a sprawling Star Wars underworld.
