Bollywood’s Sharvari Sets Sights on Action Stardom With ‘Vedaa’ and ‘Alpha’ (EXCLUSIVE)

As a die-hard Bollywood fan who’s been following the industry for decades, I can confidently say that Sharvari is quickly becoming one of my favorite rising stars! Her journey from a newcomer to a versatile actor with three high-profile releases in a single year is nothing short of inspiring.

Upcoming Bollywood star Sharvari is preparing for her third major film launch of 2024, titled “Vedaa.”

After her appearances in the hit horror-comedy “Munjya” and the critically acclaimed social drama “Maharaj,” both of which found success on Netflix, “Vedaa” will be Sharvari’s debut in action roles.

In the movie “Vedaa,” directed by Nikkhil Advani, Sharvari embodies the leading role, using boxing as one means to challenge an oppressive regime.

Sharvari shared with EbMaster that she aims to establish herself as an exceptional performer of action sequences, hoping to one day become a renowned action star. She’s fully committed to making this dream a reality. Action movies, she believes, offer an unparalleled level of excitement for both the actors and viewers. ‘Vedaa’ marks the beginning of her quest to excel in this genre.

Sharvari acknowledges that her “Vedaa” co-star, John Abraham, provided guidance during action sequences. She stated, “Working alongside the nation’s leading action star, John Abraham, was a turning point for me. Now, he serves as both my on-screen and off-screen mentor in action scenes.”

Sharvari shared details about their training sessions in Jodhpur and Mumbai, emphasizing Abraham’s dedication and perseverance in helping her navigate her initial action film journey. “On the set of ‘Vedaa,’ I was new to action films, so on my first day, I was overwhelmed with all the information given to me. I distinctly remember looking at John and saying, ‘I don’t understand what they just told me, what do I do?’ To which he replied, ‘You just follow my instructions, and we’ll be fine.’ I believe that’s how every action scene in the film was shot… I asked him many questions, and he answered them all patiently,” Sharvari explained.

Sharvari’s adventure-filled journey doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon, as she’s set to appear in the spy universe movie “Alpha,” produced by Yash Raj Films, sharing the screen with Alia Bhatt.

Sharvari shares, “Working on ‘Alpha’ has become more intense for me, and each day feels like a masterclass in action. I aim to find scripts with exciting action sequences where I can perform thrilling stunts, similar to what leading actors in our industry get to do. This is because I have discovered a passion for action after working on projects like ‘Vedaa’ and now ‘Alpha.’ I enjoy performing fight scenes, chases, and being tossed around during filming.”

“Vedaa” releases theatrically worldwide on Aug. 15.
