Avowed Delayed To February 2025, Graciously Making 2024 A Little Less Crowded

As a seasoned gamer with a hearty appetite for epic adventures, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and patience as I receive the news about Avowed’s delay. Having weathered countless delays in my gaming journey, I’ve learned to appreciate the polishing process that ensures the game I eventually play is nothing short of spectacular.

2024 sees Xbox easing some tension in our last quarter by pushing back the release date for Avowed to early 2025. Now scheduled for a debut on February 18, 2025.

As a gamer, I’m bummed that we’ve got to hold off a bit longer to dive into Obsidian Entertainment’s action RPG, Avowed. But on the bright side, this postponement makes the jam-packed fall season of games a touch less chaotic and easier on the wallet. Rather than going head-to-head with heavyweights like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows this coming holiday season, Avowed will now be launching during the less crowded start of 2025 instead, giving us more time to save up and prepare for its epic adventure.

Excited about the influx of upcoming games? To ensure everyone has ample time to enjoy them all, we’re pushing back the release date of Avowed to February 18, 2025. Keep an eye out for updates from our games spanning Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, and Xbox Game Studios at gamescom. Don’t forget to tune in on August 23 for a sneak peek at Avowed!

In their announcement about the postponement, Xbox hinted that further information about various games from their entire collection (such as those from Activision, Blizzard, and Bethesda) will be shared during gamescom. Moreover, Avowed is set to take center stage during Xbox’s scheduled livestream on August 23, offering a closer look at the upcoming action RPG.

To date, Avowed appears quite similar to Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds, but with a more fantastical twist instead of being purely sci-fi. Players can choose between first-person or third-person perspective, encounter recruitable non-player characters (NPCs), and engage in dialogue that offers choices, all while battling enemies using melee weapons, firearms, and magic. Avowed is scheduled for release on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
