As a huge Marvel fan, I’m already so excited about the X-Men finally joining the MCU! Everyone’s talking about who should play these iconic characters, and it’s been fun to see all the suggestions. It sounds like the reboot will happen sometime after the Avengers: Secret Wars movie in 2027, with Jake Schreier directing. One name that keeps popping up, and I totally agree with, is Trinity Jo-Li Bliss as Jubilee. She’d be amazing!
I recently chatted with Trinity Bliss at the 2026 Saturn Awards, and she finally set the record straight about those rumors! Everyone’s been buzzing about whether she was being considered to play Jubilee in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and she told me directly what’s going on. It was great to get some clarity on that whole situation straight from the source.
I saw that Bliss responded to all the fan talk online! She said she’d seen the speculation about her potentially playing Jubilee and thought it would be “really cool,” but she also wanted to clarify that she hasn’t actually been cast in the role. It’s a bummer, but good of her to set the record straight!
So, I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz online about me potentially joining the cast of the new X-Men film as Jubilee. Honestly, it’s incredibly flattering! It’s always exciting to see fans wanting you for a role, and Jubilee is a fantastic character. While I can’t confirm anything officially right now – you know how these things work – I can say I’m definitely aware of the rumors and keeping my fingers crossed, just like everyone else!
I was so excited when I saw them! I immediately wondered what they knew that I didn’t. I’m a big fan of the X-Men, so it seemed like a great opportunity, but unfortunately, I didn’t get the part of Jubilee.

Bliss talked about how Hollywood casting news often leaks even before actors are officially considered, playfully suggesting people simply ‘manifest’ their desired casting choices.
TopMob explained that news can leak before the people involved are even informed, and suggested they might hear something officially in about a month.
Bliss: “Maybe. Manifest it.”
I’ve always been fascinated by Jubilee! It felt like she was just…there in the older X-Men movies, especially with Lana Condor playing her in X-Men: Apocalypse. I’m so excited for this reboot because it finally feels like they’re going to really let her powers – those incredible energy blasts – shine. Honestly, whoever they cast, I just want to see Jubilee get the spotlight she deserves!

When TopMob asked Bliss about dream roles, she immediately mentioned Gwen Stacy as a favorite. She also expressed interest in playing a villain someday, but said she needed some time to consider specific characters.
TopMob: “Do you have a character you would love to play in the MCU or DCU?”
I’m honestly overwhelmed! Gwen Stacy is one of my favorites, and seeing so many heroes and characters just… it’s a lot to take in. It would be fun to play a villain someday. Let me process everything, and I’ll catch up with you at the next event to let you know my thoughts.
I’ve been really impressed with young Bliss lately! Most people probably first noticed her as Tuk in the massive hit Avatar: The Way of Water back in 2022, and she’s clearly not slowing down. She reprised her role in the recent Fire and Ash, and she’s also popped up in a couple of interesting films – Little Wing and The Life of Chuck, which stars Tom Hiddleston. Keep an eye on this one – she’s going places!
Currently, there haven’t been any official announcements about recasting the X-Men. However, fans are excited about the potential return of original actors – including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Kelsey Grammer – to reprise their roles in the 2026 film, Avengers: Doomsday.
The Future of X-Men Reboot Casting
Even with fan suggestions like Trinity Jo-Li Bliss for Jubilee, Marvel Studios hasn’t announced most of the cast for the new X-Men movie yet. We likely won’t hear official news about who’s playing many of the main mutant characters for at least another year.
If the new students are open to sharing the spotlight, the 2027 San Diego Comic-Con would be a great place to introduce them, even with all the excitement around Secret Wars.
There’s a rumor that Sadie Sink might be cast as Jean Grey in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie. If true, this could be the first sign of the Marvel Cinematic Universe introducing its next group of mutant characters.
As a film buff, I think it would be amazing to see Jean Grey pop up in a more grounded Spider-Man story. Not only would it be cool to see those characters interact, but it would cleverly suggest that mutants are already part of the MCU, just operating under the radar. Maybe groups like Damage Control are keeping them hidden – that would be a fantastic way to build the story!
With Marvel bringing mutants into the story now, it creates opportunities for characters like Jubilee to appear in various movies and shows – perhaps even in Secret Wars – before the planned X-Men reboot, which isn’t expected until 2028 or beyond.
