As a die-hard fan of Catherine Curtin, I am simply blown away by her incredible versatility and longevity in the entertainment industry! With over 150 films and TV shows under her belt, she’s truly a force to be reckoned with. From gracing our screens as Wanda Bell in “Orange Is the New Black” to squaring off against Lorne Michaels in Jason Reitman’s “Saturday Night,” her performances never cease to impress.
As a dedicated cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that the remarkable Catherine Curtin, famously recognized for her portrayal of correctional officer Wanda Bell in “Orange Is the New Black,” has joined forces with Fusion Entertainment.
More recently, Curtin wrapped up filming for Jason Reitman’s “Saturday Night,” where he played the role of Joan Carbunkle, a strict NBC censor who clashed with the show’s producer Lorne Michaels and the creative team of “Saturday Night Live” during its inaugural season.
An actress with over 150 films and TV series under her belt, Curtin has graced screens in shows like “Partner Track,” “Homeland,” and “Insecure.” Her impressive portfolio additionally features roles in “Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens,” “Tommy,” “The Loudest Voice,” “The Blacklist,” “Mindhunter,” “Blue Bloods,” “Bull,” “Law & Order,” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” “The Naked Brothers Band,” and “Surveillance.” To top it off, she had a recurring role in the highly successful Netflix series “Stranger Things,” appearing in 11 episodes.
She will soon present “Bad Shabbos,” previously shown at Tribeca, as well as “If That Mockingbird Don’t Sing,” which was screened at the Bentonville Film Festival.
Apart from “Werewolves Within,” “Bad Education,” “Worth,” “Poof,” “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Chemical Hearts,” “Founders Day” and “The Bourne Legacy,” Curtin’s body of work also encompasses films that have garnered acclaim at notable film festivals, such as Cannes, Palm Springs, Aspen Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Tribeca Festival, SXSW, and Sundance.
Curtin graced the stage in the original Broadway play “Six Degrees of Separation,” portraying a character there, and later took on the role of Janis Joplin in an Off-Broadway production titled “Love, Janis.” This performance earned him a nomination for a Joseph Jefferson Award.
Curtin will still be represented by Artists & Representatives, with the Sullivan Talent Group sharing in that management role.
