As a gamer, I can’t wait for me to dive into the world of “Crypt Custodian” on August 27th! This Metroidvania-style game with Zelda-like elements is being developed by Kyle Thompson and will be available on PC and consoles. Top Hat Studios first unveiled this exciting title during their showcase at Guerilla Collective earlier this year, setting a summer release window. So mark your calendars, fellow gamers!
In a new twist, Crypt Custodian introduces a playful cat who has recently passed away and arrived at the Afterlife’s Palace. Unfortunately, this feline is condemned to serve as the eternal janitor of the Afterworld. As they settle in, they encounter other forlorn souls, participate in nerve-wracking skirmishes, and traverse a mystifying realm filled with peculiar inhabitants, secret treasures, and countless mysterious corners and wonders.
In other words, Crypt Custodian is the third project by Thompson, coming after Sheepo and Islets – both being Metroidvania games. The developers aim for this game to be a culmination of their skills, aspiring to become their masterpiece. They anticipate it to be a striking advancement in terms of visuals, gameplay mechanics, and complexity compared to their previous critically praised titles.
Crypt Custodian is set for a worldwide debut, with versions playable on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox consoles. This game will offer multilingual support, featuring languages such as English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
