All male characters in Wuthering Waves ranked by Resonance Liberation (ultimate) attack

As a seasoned player who’s spent countless hours battling it out in Wuthering Waves, I can confidently say that each Resonator brings their unique style and power to the table. Among them all, there’s one that really catches my eye – Mortefi, the master tactician.

In simpler terms, the term “Resonance Liberation” refers to a powerful attack that can be unleashed by a character in Wuthering Waves. Regardless of which Resonator you’re utilizing at the moment, you must first build up their ultimate attack before you can execute it. If you’re curious about which male Resonators in WuWa possess the strongest “Resonance Liberation” attacks, then keep reading.

All male Wuthering Waves characters’ ultimate attacks, ranked from worst to best

1. In the world of Wuthering Waves, a larger number of Resonators who exhibit female characteristics outnumber those with male traits, making the list less extensive. I’ve treated Spectro and Havoc Rover as distinct characters since their Resonance Liberation abilities show notable differences.

“Resonance Liberation assaults are effective in boosting your team or inflicting significant damage on an adversary in a short period. While other abilities exist, employing these attacks during battle minimizes the length of time required to engage an enemy.”

As a seasoned gamer and long-time player of Wuthering Waves, I can confidently say that charging a Resonance Liberation attack isn’t as simple as just hitting an enemy over and over again. While it may seem that way at first glance, each Resonance Liberation attack charges differently based on various factors, such as the specific Resonator wielding the ability and the strength of the enemy being attacked.

8 Aalto

As a gamer, I’d describe Aalto’s Resonance Liberation as “A Blossoming Chaos in the Fog“. If you’re still searching for reasons to dislike him even more, let me share this: His final move is a real downer. To be completely honest, his demeanor, sunglasses, and our initial encounter left a bad taste in my mouth. But among all the attacks in Wuthering Waves, Aalto’s Resonance Liberation takes the cake for being the most frustrating one.

As the game’s description states, this ability creates a Mysterious Portal in front of you that inflicts Air damage. Any projectiles passing through the Mysterious Portal will boost your attack power. The Mysterious Portal remains active for 10 seconds.

1. Spending so much time activating it only to find out it causes additional harm (doubling the total damage) if you shoot through it, and the damage isn’t even significant. It’s no surprise that it’s listed on multiple D-Tier rankings, as it’s one of the most disappointing things I’ve experienced. Yet, I endured it for the sake of this compilation.

7 Yuanwu

As a gamer, I really enjoy having Yuanwu on my team due to his unique abilities. However, I must be honest that his “Blazing Might” Resonance Liberation attack in Wuthering Waves doesn’t compare to the best ones. It’s more like an added bonus for a slight damage boost. I use it frequently, but not as a game-changer.

Even though your ability allows you to unleash a thunderous power, giving all surrounding characters a Forte Circuit Lightning Infused status for 10 seconds, boosting their resistance to interruptions, followed by a strong Electro attack, it’s important to note that other male Wuthering Waves characters are still more formidable. Considering the damage output is only 176%, they outshine your performance in this aspect.

An acceptable use of this support skill is to boost the strength of other Resonators during battle. However, it doesn’t offer anything particularly noteworthy in my opinion. Instead, I prefer the Resonance Skill, which creates an Electro field lasting 12 seconds and inflicts damage on opponents.

6 Lingyang

With his gentle disposition and fiery zest, young Lingyang holds great promise. Surprisingly, he is a Glacio wielder. His unique ability to resonate with “Strive: Lion’s Vigor,” his two-part attack skill, could benefit from an enhancement.

1. Initially, after activating his Resonance Liberation, you inflict Glacio damage on your adversary with each attack. Furthermore, for a duration of 14 seconds, you’ll benefit from the effect of Lion’s Vigor, a blessing that enhances your combat abilities.

1. In simpler terms, Lion’s Vigor is an additional ability that boosts Lingyang’s ice damage by 50%. This might seem like quite a punch, but the description of the skill can be confusing. Essentially, when activated, you deal an extra 50% more ice damage for a duration of 14 seconds. At its base level, it multiplies your total skill damage by 2.0 or 200%. It’s alright, but not particularly impressive in my opinion.

5 Spectro Rover

1. It’s tough not to take a liking to Spectro Rover, given that we’ve all invested considerable time in controlling them. Regardless of whether you opted for the female or male version of Rover, their final move remains unchanged, ensuring a consistent gaming experience. Fortunately, my brother picked the male version of Rover, allowing me to record footage of Rover’s ultimate attack.

Spectro Rover’s ability named “Echoing Orchestra” works by focusing Spectro energy towards a specific location, causing an explosion after a brief delay that inflicts Spectro damage on the targeted zone.

1. This brief animated sequence delivers powerful light-based harm, and even after repeated use, I find it fascinating. At its base level, the overall damage output amounts to an impressive +440.00%. As the skill levels up, that number just keeps climbing higher.

4 Mortefi

Mortefi is a member of our gun squad, including himself, Aalto, and Chixia. Working together makes for an enjoyable experience, despite my criticism of Aalto’s ultimate move in this post. Mortefi stands out as an excellent supporting DPS character in Wuthering Waves. He harmonizes well with Chixia or Rover, as demonstrated in the video I shared earlier.

Mortefi’s ability, named “Violent Finalé,” is a three-step skill, an extravagant design choice, yet effective enough for him to reach this rank on the list.

1. At 80.0%, Violent Finalé lets you inflict Fusion damage and trigger Burning Rhapsody on all your Resonators. In-game info says that Burning Rhapsody is a skill Mortefi uses when his basic attack hits the target. He fires off one Marcato, causing additional Fusion damage. Put simply, when Mortefi attacks successfully, he unleashes a synchronized assault (Burning Rhapsody) and shoots one Marcato for extra Fusion damage.

If Mortefi manages to land his Heavy Attack on an opponent, instead it will be referred to as a “Coordinated Attack,” during which he discharges not one but two Marcatos. Mortefi is capable of executing one such attack every 0.35 seconds. Each Marcato contributes 16.00% of his skill damage.

For optimal performance when using Mortefi’s ultimate, consider switching him out with another Resonator in its place during the video. This change can lead to even more effective results.

3 Calcharo

Edgy Calcharo’s attack, named Resonance Liberation, is quite edgy and challenging for enemies. It leaves them with little chance to bounce back. I extended the video length to let you witness the spectacle of his ultimate move in action, as it’s truly a sight to behold.

1. “Phantom Etching” refers to a powerful skill that inflicts immense damage across different attack sequences.

1. When employing the ability, Calcharo strikes the target, inflicting Electro damage and transitioning into his “Deathblade Gear mode.” Once this mode ends, his initial move gets swapped with the skill “Necessary Means,” which also delivers Electro damage. Notably, the combined damage from the “Necessary Means” skill amounts to a 200% boost of its standard power.

As a gamer, I found that instead of regular attacks, my character unleashes a series of five “Hounds Roar” attacks. Each roar deals more Electro damage compared to basic attacks, and they can be chained consecutively. The exact percentages for each roar aren’t detailed here, but you can find them under Calcharo’s character info in the Resonance Liberation skill section.

2 Havoc Rover

While Calcharo’s Resonance Liberation might appear more complex and boast several components, it’s important to note that Havoc Rover’s Resonance Liberation attack packs a stronger wallop with a total skill damage of 765.00%. The Deadening Abyss from Havoc Rover is a formidable one-hit attack guaranteed to knock out any enemy.

Just like how Spectro skills let them collect “resonances in their hands to strike a foe, inflicting Havoc damage upon hit” with Rover.

1 Jiyan

Jiyan has long been beloved by fans for his quiet demeanor. Beneath his stoic exterior, however, lies a hidden sensitivity, and his past is tragically moving. While Havoc Rover’s Resonance Liberation may be stronger, Jiyan’s animation takes the crown as the most stunning in the game.

In the game Emerald Storm: Prelude, Jiyan can activate the “Qingloong Mode,” which enhances his resistance to interruptions. Instead of performing his normal Basic Attack, Heavy Attack, and Dodge Counter, he uses a powerful attack called “Lance of Qingloong.”

Using the Lance of Qingloong, he can execute a sequence of three uninterrupted strikes, inflicting Aero damage with each one. The damage percentages for these attacks are as follows: 263.6%, 247.68%, and 268.64%. In simpler terms, the Lance allows him to make a trio of consecutive attacks causing Aero harm. The specific damages for each attack are 263.6%, 247.68%, and 268.64%.

Players of Wuthering Waves are excitedly anticipating the arrival of Xiangli Yao in the upcoming 1.2 update on September 5, 2024. Unfortunately, details regarding his skills have yet to be disclosed. This information will be made available once it becomes publicly known.
