Here's The Eye-Popping Amount Of Money Robert Downey Jr. Is Reportedly Getting To Return To MCU

As a hardcore Marvel fan and avid gamer with a deep appreciation for the intricacies of the MCU, I can hardly contain my excitement about Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the franchise! The news that he’ll be stepping into the infamous shoes of Victor Von Doom, AKA Doctor Doom, in “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” is nothing short of mind-blowing.

At San Diego Comic-Con’s Marvel Studios’ Hall H panel, it was officially announced that Robert Downey Jr. would rejoin the Marvel Cinematic Universe, not as Tony Stark/Iron Man, but as Victor von Doom (also known as Doctor Doom) in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Previously, Downey made a fortune from his time in the MCU, with estimates putting it at $500 million to $600 million. However, his new contract is said to be for an exceptionally large sum of money.

As a devoted admirer speaking, Variety reports that I’m set to earn significantly more than $80 million for the two upcoming films. If Doomsday and Secret Wars manage to hit specific box office thresholds, I stand to gain even more incentives. Additionally, sources mention that I’ll have access to a private jet, a dedicated security team, and a trailer camp, which sounds quite luxurious!

The Russo brothers, responsible for Avengers: Endgame among other MCU productions, are set to direct Doomsday and Secret Wars with substantial pay raises. According to reports, they will earn $40 million per film. Moreover, financial incentives will be added if these films surpass certain box office thresholds of $750 million and $1 billion globally. However, it seems that the Russo brothers won’t receive any profits from the movies under this agreement.

In the spring of 2025, the production for the next two Avengers films, titled “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” will start in London. The first movie is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, while the second film will be released on May 7, 2027.
