As a long-time Call of Duty fan, I’m both elated and dismayed by the recent addition of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone to Xbox Game Pass. On one hand, I’m thrilled that more players can access and enjoy these games. But on the other hand, I’ve noticed a significant increase in cheaters since the update.
With the Season 5 update, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can now enjoy Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. This addition has been highly anticipated by gamers, but it may have also attracted an influx of cheaters due to the game’s increased accessibility.

After the recent major update, there’s been a significant increase in hacking incidents reported within the community. Ricochet, Call of Duty’s anti-cheat system, remains active, but it seems that some third-party cheats are managing to get around it. Furthermore, it’s possible that players who were previously banned from the game are now accessing Modern Warfare 3 on their computers using an alternate client, such as the Xbox App.
User CongratsMate reported in the Reddit thread that they encountered cheaters throughout the night in their game lobby. This low-level player, with under 50 account rank, displayed an unreal level of skill, which is seldom seen among beginners. Cheating tactics like wallhacks and aimbot enable such players to detect enemies concealed behind objects and hit targets accurately without aiming.
Stay away from ranked, the cheaters is in charge of it rn and I been running into this same dude in ranked since season started.

Above this post, you’ll find a video showing a user cheating in Warzone’s ranked play. In the clip, an unscrupulous player wielded a Sidewinder Battle Rifle as they rampaged through Rebirth Island. If you stumble upon such unsavory behavior, be sure to report the offender promptly. Reporting multiple times will trigger the anti-cheat system, leading to a shadowban for the hacker, and potentially, a permanent ban.
1. I’m optimistic that Activision will address and implement solutions for this matter promptly. Notably, a major cheat supplier for Call of Duty (Raging Nation) was closed down following a legal warning from the publisher, which is certainly progress. For now, console gamers can disable crossplay to minimize encounters with PC players, possibly lowering the number of cheaters per game session.
