FX Orders Comedy Series ‘Snowflakes’ From ‘Tonight Show’ Writers

As a dedicated cinephile who has been following the television landscape for decades, I am thrilled to learn about FX‘s decision to greenlight the new comedy series “Snowflakes.” Having seen the impressive lineup of talented writers and actors attached to this project, I have high expectations for this show.

FX has greenlit the comedy series “Snowflakes,” EbMaster has learned.

A thirty-minute program titled “Snowflakes” was initially chosen for testing at FX in January. This show is scheduled to debut in the year 2025. According to the announcement, “Snowflakes” is a comedy about a group of young adults living together who strive to be good, even though they’re not quite there yet, despite their imperfections and lack of maturity.

Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, previous writers for “The Tonight Show,” penned the pilot script and are among its executive producers. Nick Kroll and Alicia Van Couvering serve as executive producers through their production company, Good at Business. Jonathan Krisel and Stefani Robinson join them in this role. Krisel not only produces but also directs the pilot. FX Productions finances and supports the project.

“Nick Grad, president of FX Entertainment, is thrilled about the remarkable acting talent and comedy duo, Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, we’ve brought together for Snowflakes. This collaboration not only allows us to present audiences with the unique comedic perspective of Ben and Rebecca, but also provides an opportunity for us to team up once more with Nick, Jonathan, and Stefani, who are all accomplished performers in FX’s acclaimed comedy series.”

The actors featured in “Snowflakes” are Malik Elassal portraying Samir, Lucy Freyer as Billie, Jack Innanen taking on the role of Paul Baker, Amita Rao playing Issa, and Owen Thiele bringing Anton to life.

“Kronengold and Shaw expressed their appreciation for sharing this tale of a close-knit friend group dealing with the challenging, sexually charged phase of life. FX comedies have significantly shaped our era, and we’re thrilled to explore the repercussions,” they shared.

For two years, Kronengold and Shaw worked as writers on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” making them the youngest writers ever on the show. In November 2023, their humorous collection of short stories titled “Naked in the Rideshare: Tales of Misjudged Situations” was published by HarperCollins.

“Kroll expressed excitement about working with immensely skilled writers Ben and Rebecca, whose talents surpass expectations. Our cast is exceptional, and the team we’ve brought together is top-notch,” he added, looking forward to contributing to the project and providing more noteworthy quotes for media announcements.
