As a huge fan of the gaming industry and a follower of the exciting careers of talented actors and artists, I can’t help but be in awe of Abubakar Salim’s impressive resume. With his BAFTA-nominated performance as Bayek in Assassin’s Creed Origins, two critically acclaimed HBO series under his belt, and voice acting roles in popular games like World of Warcraft, Diablo 4, and Stray Gods, Salim is truly making waves in the entertainment industry.

Abubakar Salim is currently experiencing great success. After earning a BAFTA nomination for his role as Bayek in Assassin’s Creed Origins, he has shined in two highly praised HBO productions, House of the Dragon and Raised by Wolves. Additionally, he has lent his voice to characters in World of Warcraft, Diablo 4, and Stray Gods. Moreover, he has even launched a game under his own studio, Tales of Kenzera: Zau.

More recently, Salim became a guest on GameSpot’s Star Players show. In this episode, he discussed his background with video games and the titles that hold deep meaning for him. Interestingly enough, there is one game that has significantly influenced not only his profession but also his personal life: Kingdom Hearts.

In his own words, Salim shared that the heartfelt themes and deep-rooted friendships portrayed in Kingdom Hearts have significantly impacted his life. This influence extends beyond just his profession, reaching every aspect of his existence, as he conveyed to host Lucy James.

“To be honest, this experience left a deep impression on me. It was incredibly influential and emotional. The darkness took his friends away, and he longed for them to return. It was an enchanting and unforgettable moment that will forever shape my work and my being. There’s a sincerity, a truthfulness, and authenticity to it.”

Additionally, he shared insights into his passion for World of Warcraft, establishing a gaming studio of his own, managing time for gaming as a new parent, and expressing his strong belief that Golden Sun deserves a remake – a viewpoint we wholeheartedly support.

Salim is the newest addition to GameSpot’s lineup for their biweekly show, Star Players. This engaging program delves into the unique gaming experiences of famous personalities, including celebrities, musicians, actors from film and television.
