While Thor’s presence in comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is well-established, it’s Jeff who has truly captured my heart and the attention of many players due to his unique gameplay style.
At San Diego Comic-Con recently, Marvel Rivals unveiled two new playable characters set to join their expanding team: Thor, the God of Thunder, and Jeff, the Land Shark from Baby Marville. Though Thor is well-known among Marvel fans due to his prominence in comics and the Marvel film franchise, Jeff was previously a lesser-known character who gained significant attention following his introduction in Marvel Snap.
The last character on our team has become increasingly popular among Marvel Rivals players thanks to its engaging gameplay and irresistible charm, leaving foes feeling disoriented. Although its skills are relatively modest compared to other characters, it has demonstrated significant worth by providing an abundance of bubbles and a sunny demeanor to boost our team’s morale.
Ever since July 27, 2024, when he joined the superhero team-based PvP shooter Marvel Rivals, this amicable sea creature with superpowers has generated immense excitement among players. His character trailer unveiling sparked immense pride among fans, who are determined to safeguard their new underwater ally. Meanwhile, captivating gameplay clips have surfaced online, highlighting his formidable abilities.

Jeff serves as a Strategist in Marvel Rivals, offering comfort to teammates through his “Healing Bubble” talent that brings delight to viewers and relief to allies. Furthermore, he comes equipped with a passive ability named “Unconscious Adorableness” that shields him from significant damage inflicted by critical hits. Lastly, Jeff can use his “Hide and Seek” skill to swim through surroundings for an added Movement Bonus, though this comes at the price of having his fin exposed to adversaries.
Jeff’s astonishing talent leaves foes trembling – the uncanny knack of suddenly appearing in their midst and then dragging them into a vortex with his extensive reach. He momentarily activates Hide and Seek when enemies are engulfed, only to eject them subsequently. However, this skill can also suck in allies for a quick escape, following which Jeff uses his bubbles to bestow essential healing.
Jeff, also known as the Baby Land Shark, is a relatively new character introduced in Marvel Comics. He made his debut in the West Coast Avengers #7, which hit shelves in January 2019. Created by M.O.D.O.K., this villainous mastermind designed Jeff for nefarious purposes. However, Jeff’s propensity to aid friends and other heroes eventually led him to join the West Coast Avengers team, mentored by Gwenpool.
