This Deadpool And Wolverine Cameo Wasn't Actually Filmed, It Was Created Digitally

As a die-hard Marvel fan, I was thrilled to see Chris Hemsworth’s cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine, even if it wasn’t a new scene filmed specifically for the movie. It’s always exciting to see our beloved characters crossover, no matter how unconventional the method.

In the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) blockbuster featuring Deadpool and Wolverine, which runs for two hours, numerous cameos are packed in. Many of these appearances come from Fox’s Marvel films. However, one essential MCU character makes an unexpected entrance.

Spoilers for a scene in Deadpool and Wolverine to follow!

As a longtime fan of Marvel comics and movies, I’ve grown fond of the larger-than-life personalities that populate the Marvel universe. Among these iconic characters, Thor and Deadpool hold a special place in my heart. So, when I learned that Thor and Deadpool would be sharing the silver screen together in an upcoming film, I was beyond excited!

At Comic-Con in San Diego, GameSpot interviewed Chris Hemsworth who was there to promote “Transformers: One.” Regarding his appearances as Deadpool and Wolverine in the film, Hemsworth clarified that he didn’t shoot any fresh scenes for the project.

He says, “I didn’t record that movie. I haven’t watched it yet.” Regarding the film in question, he speculates, “I think it’s just excerpts from other films they’ve manipulated or compiled digitally and intend to include.”

In the given scene, Thor appears on a TVA monitor, holding a dying Deadpool in his arms. This moment is meant to represent the distant future according to the storyline. However, eagle-eyed MCU viewers might recognize that this footage was previously used from Thor: The Dark World in 2013. A subtle change was made in this scene by replacing Loki with Deadpool.

I’ve been there myself, feeling frustrated and confused about not receiving payment for work that I believed I had completed satisfactorily. Hemsworth’s statement resonates with me as I recall instances where I’ve asked myself why I didn’t get paid, only to realize later that my absence or lack of follow-up was the reason. It’s a humbling experience and a valuable lesson in taking responsibility for our actions.

As a dedicated gamer following the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I can’t help but feel excited about the possibility of seeing Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool sharing the screen together. Although they didn’t interact in their latest appearances, the MCU’s exploration of future timelines keeps the door open for a proper encounter between these iconic characters. With the multiverse becoming an increasingly significant aspect of the MCU narrative, who knows when or how Thor and Deadpool might meet? The anticipation is real!

Deadpool and Wolverine is out in theaters as of July 26.
