Soul Reaver Remasters Seemingly Confirmed By A Statue At Comic-Con

As a long-time fan of the Legacy of Kain series, I was absolutely ecstatic when I heard rumors of potential remasters for Soul Reaver I and II. The first time I played these games back in the late 90s, I was captivated by their dark and intricate storyline, the rich lore of Nosgoth, and the innovative puzzle-solving mechanics that set them apart from other action-adventure titles.

At San Diego Comic-Con, a statue suggesting the remastered versions of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver I and II have likely been announced.

At San Diego Comic-Con, a fan on ResetEra noticed a statue showcasing the characters Raziel and Kain, accompanied by a sign labeling it as “Soul Reaver: I & II Remastered,” together with a QR code bearing the Dark Horse Comics insignia. With Dark Horse Comics having recently unveiled their “Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise” comic, this statue may be hinting at an upcoming announcement for remastered versions.

At the Comic-Con event in San Diego, Randy Lahrman, Dark Horse Comics’ vice president of product development and sales, shared with GameSpot that the statue will be available for purchase starting August. Further details about the statue will be revealed at a later time. Unfortunately, the company declined to provide any information regarding the rumored remasters, and the sign mentioning them was no longer present when we visited their booth.

Last year, Crystal Dynamics announced they were running secret playtests for an unnamed project. Those who finished a Legacy of Kain survey were contacted by the developer with information about testing “an as-yet-unnamed new game.”

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but get excited when I hear Phil Rogers, the CEO of Crystal Dynamics and Eidos, acknowledging our collective desire to revisit the captivating world of Nosgoth and the legendary IP, Legacy of Kain.

As an avid fan of the Legacy of Kain series, I was thrilled when Crystal Dynamics dropped hints about a potential new game in the franchise. The clues they provided made it seem plausible that this could be a revitalization of the Soul Reaver saga. My heart raced as I recalled the first installment releasing back in 1999, with its sequel emerging in 2001. It’s been an agonizingly long wait since the last addition to the series, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, graced us in 2003 – over twenty years have passed!
