AMD Delays Ryzen 9000 CPU Launch At The Last Minute

As a seasoned gamer and tech enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly anticipating AMD’s new Zen 5 Ryzen 9000 CPUs. The thought of getting my hands on these powerful processors was exhilarating, and I had already started planning my system build around them. But, the recent news of a delay in their release has left me feeling a bit deflated.

AMD, a CPU manufacturer, has revealed that it’s pushing back the launch of its new Zen 5 Ryzen 9000 CPUs due to defects found in some early production chips. These chips were initially slated for release at the end of July, but they will now be accessible to buyers in August instead.

AMD’s Jack Huynh expressed gratitude for the anticipation towards the Ryzen 9000 series processor on Twitter. However, during the final inspections, some of the initially shipped units to retailers didn’t meet AMD’s quality standards. To ensure top-notch experiences for all Ryzen users, AMD is collaborating with partners to exchange those initial units with new ones, leading to a slight delay in retail sales.

Four Ryzen 9000 series processors, originally planned for a July 31 release, have had their launches postponed. Here are the names of the afflicted products and their revised launch dates:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 9600X: Thursday, August 8
  • AMD Ryzen 7 9700X: Thursday, August 8
  • AMD Ryzen 9 9900X: Thursday, August 15
  • AMD Ryzen 9 9950X: Thursday, August 15

I’m sorry for the hold-up, gamers. We’re dedicated to delivering an exceptional gaming experience to each and every Ryzen user, and we can’t wait for you to enjoy the newest Ryzen 9000 series.

As a gamer, I’m excitedly waiting for AMD to announce the prices of their new processors, but it seems that French tech retailer PC21 may have jumped the gun. Based on a leak reported by Tom’s Hardware, the Ryzen 9 9900X is apparently priced at $741 USD on PC21’s site, while the Ryzen 5 9600X is listed for $458 USD.
