Katherine Waterston Joins Showtime Spy Drama ‘The Agency’

As a devoted fan of quality television, I’m absolutely thrilled to learn that Katherine Waterston has joined the cast of “The Agency.” Her addition to this already impressive lineup, which includes Michael Fassbender, Richard Gere, Jeffrey Wright, and Jodie Turner-Smith, only serves to heighten my anticipation for this upcoming Paramount+ with Showtime series.

Katherine Waterston has been announced as the newest member of the “The Agency” cast for the upcoming Paramount+ and Showtime series, according to EbMaster’s confirmation.

Waterston has joined the main cast, including Michael Fassbender, Richard Gere, Jeffrey Wright, and Jodie Turner-Smith, for the ongoing production in London.

The series is inspired by the French original “Le Bureau des Legendes.” According to the synopsis, it centers around CIA agent Martin (Fassbender), who is forced to leave his secret undercover work and come back to London Headquarters. When an old flame resurfaces, he finds himself torn between his duty, his true identity, and his emotions. This inner conflict thrusts him into a perilous world of global espionage and intrigue.

Waterston will play Naomi, described as “the Operations Officer and ex-handler of Martian.”

I’m a big fan of Waterston’s acting abilities and have enjoyed her roles in various films such as “Inherent Vice,” “Alien Covenant,” “Babylon,” and the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise. Most recently, I’ve seen her in “The End We Start From,” and I’m looking forward to her upcoming project, “Park Avenue.” In the television world, she has been a part of productions like “The Third Day,” “Perry Mason,” and even had an exciting arc on the Emmy-nominated series “Slow Horses.”

She is repped by UTA, Strand Entertainment, and Lark Management.

Jez and John-Henry Butterworth hold the roles of writers and executive producers. Joe Wright serves as both executive producer and director for the first two episodes. George Clooney and Grant Heslov executive produce through their Smokehouse Pictures company. Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios has Keith Cox and Nina L. Diaz on board as executive producers. David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, and Bob Yari are the executive producers for 101 Studios. Ashley Stern and Pascal Breton execute producer duties for Federation Studies/Federation Entertainment of America. Showtime Studios is in charge of commissioning the series, with production assistance from 101 Studios. Paramount Global Content Distribution and Federation Studies co-distribute the series internationally.

Deadline first reported Waterston’s casting.
