CoD: Warzone Dev Confirms Massive Buff Is Coming To MW2 Sniper Rifles

As a long-time Call of Duty fan and avid Warzone player, I can’t help but feel excited about the upcoming buff to Modern Warfare 2’s sniper rifles in Warzone! For years, I’ve been using the MW3 snipers with their one-shot capabilities, leaving my trusty old MW2 snipers like the FJX Imperium feeling neglected and underpowered.

In the battle royale game, Warzone, within the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 series, the sniper rifles are presently not as strong as other weapons. However, according to the latest update from the ModernWarzone news platform, the developers have hinted at an upcoming significant enhancement for these sniper rifles.

In the beginning, when Modern Warfare 2 merged with Warzone, it took two shots to kill opponents using sniper rifles. Later on, a modification was introduced, allowing for one-shot kills if the player added an ammo attachment, like explosive rounds, to their weapon. However, this requirement makes older snipers from MW2, such as the FJX Imperium, less effective compared to the stronger snipers in Modern Warfare 3, like the MORS and KATT-AMR.

During a recent developer call for Call of Duty, it was announced that after an upcoming modification, Modern Warfare II sniper rifles will no longer necessitate specific attachments like explosive rounds to instantly eliminate players in Warzone. The exact timing for this change remains undisclosed.
