‘Terrifier 3’ Trailer: Art the Clown Goes on Christmas Murder Spree

As a long-time horror movie enthusiast and film critic with a particular fondness for the macabre and the unsettling, I must admit that the latest trailer for “Terrifier 3” has me both excited and intrigued. Having closely followed the development of this franchise since its inception, I’ve come to appreciate the raw, visceral terror that director Damien Leone brings to life through his terrifying creation, Art the Clown.

Art the Clown is back to spread holiday cheer and fear in the first trailer for “Terrifier 3.”

David Howard Thornton reappears as the terrifying jester, adding more grisly scenes to the third installment of “Terrifier.” Led by Damien Leone’s direction and creativity, this film series portrays a mute and sadistic clown on a rampage, determined to butcher anyone who gets in his way.

“The low-budget horror film ‘Terrifier 2,’ created for under a quarter of a million dollars, generated an impressive $15 million revenue at the box office in 2022 and gained massive popularity online. In the initial movie, Sienna Shaw (played by Lauren LaVera) apparently ended Art’s reign of terror by decapitating him. However, a shocking twist in the last scene unveiled that Art (David Howard Thornton), was not dead yet; instead, Victoria Heyes (Samantha Scaffidi), the lone survivor from the first ‘Terrifier,’ gave birth to his living severed head in a psychiatric facility.”

Last June, while talking to EbMaster, Leone shared that “Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors” left a profoundly surreal and horror-filled impact on him, inspiring his upcoming project, “Terrifier 2.” However, for the third installment, he intends to shift the tone towards something more grounded.

“Many viewers weren’t fond of the fantasy element or required more clarification about it. To address this, I plan to reconsider some aspects of the story and possibly return to the original ‘Nightmare on Elm Street.’ This feedback could significantly improve future films. However, we’ll have to wait and see.”

“Terrifier 3” is set to hit theaters Oct. 11.
