XANTARES Calls Skyesports Championship The "Worst Tournament" Ever

As a long-time CS:GO and now CS2 gamer, I have attended and participated in numerous tournaments both online and offline. However, my experience at the Skyesports Championship 2024 has been nothing short of disappointing. The constant tech issues and delays mid-game have left a sour taste in my mouth.

I’m a huge fan of the CS2 community and was excited for the Skyesports Championship 2024, promised to be the biggest event in India. However, things haven’t gone as smoothly as we hoped. The technical issues have been persistent, causing significant delays right in the middle of games.

The electricity went out not long after the initial game began, causing the internet connection to malfunction as well.

As a gamer, I can tell you that The MongolZ versus True Rippers match turned out to be a best-of-one (BO1), which surprisingly lasted for over three hours. Unfortunately, the rest of the scheduled matches for that day didn’t happen and were rescheduled for July 24th instead.

As a gamer excited for the Skyesports Championship 2024, I’m disappointed to share that unexpected technical problems have emerged, forcing us to move the matches to Day 2 (July 24). My team and I are working around the clock to resolve these issues so we can get back to the action as soon as possible. Stay tuned for updates on our progress.

During the event, teams encountered additional problems beyond what was initially noted. Prior to its commencement, Ozzny brought attention to substandard conditions in the practice rooms through a video. Magnojez of BetBoom showcased the dilapidated state of the facilities, revealing broken tables and inactive windows among other issues.

XANTARES from Eternal Fire expressed his disappointment about the tournament on Twitter, stating, “This is hands down the worst tournament I’ve ever encountered. The PCs are subpar, there were sharp objects on the tables, and to top it off, the electricity and internet keep going out – it’s a complete shame.

CS2CIS recently posted another video, in which they expressed surprise and disappointment as their practice computers were unexpectedly taken away from them with no prior notice or reason given.

In addition, Magnojez requested that other players sign out of their Steam accounts to safeguard personal data.

Magnojez commented, “The practice room is clearly a private space for teams. They store printed analytics and strategies there, often surprising others with their sudden appearances. Once inside, they set up computers and monitors, sometimes even leaving dirty items on the carpets.”

Due to unfilled promises and failed negotiations with the organizers, BetBoom has decided to pull out of the event.

As a passionate gamer, I can’t help but feel frustrated when the rules aren’t equal for everyone in the game. BetBoom’s official statement echoes my sentiment: “I strongly believe that for fair competition to truly thrive, every team deserves an even playing field. Regrettably, this isn’t the reality right now.”

Instead of Skyesports announcing a delay in the matches until Day 2, they have yet to provide any further information about the ongoing tournament’s status.
