Deadpool & Wolverine Is "Not A Commercial For Another Movie," Ryan Reynolds Says

As a die-hard fan of the X-Men universe, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie. Ryan Reynolds‘ recent comments on Good Morning America have only fueled my excitement even further.

According to actor Ryan Reynolds, the upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine film isn’t a promotional tool for another movie. Instead, it is a standalone production as Reynolds shared on Good Morning America. This distinction is worth noting since most Marvel films have interconnected narratives, concluding with previews of upcoming movies. However, Deadpool and Wolverine are expected to tell an independent story.

“We stumbled upon something extraordinary – a unique and unrepeatable chance. Moreover, the Deadpool & Wolverine film isn’t just an advertisement for another production; it stands alone as a fully immersive experience for the audience.”

Reynolds continued by sharing that Disney granted him the freedom to develop Deadpool and Wolverine as distinct entities rather than integrating them into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe puzzle at Disney’s full encouragement.

“Sitting here, it’s tempting to grumble, ‘Disney and Marvel were obstinate every inch of the way.’ But in reality, they were fantastic collaborators. I’m amazed we managed to pull off some things with their blessing. It’s quite surprising,” Reynolds shared.

In an exciting collaboration, Reynolds stars as Deadpool while Hugh Jackman portrays Wolverine in this team-up movie. They join forces to confront the formidable antagonist Cassandra Nova, played by Emma Corrin. The exact storyline of their battle is currently being kept secret.

In a new turn of events, Dafne Keen, who played Logan’s X-23 in previous installments, returns to the screen. Joining her are familiar faces Aaron Stanford as Pyro and Tyler Mane as Sabretooth, last seen with the X-Men in the year 2000.

Shawn Levy, who has worked with Reynolds before in “Free Guy,” is now helming the upcoming film featuring Deadpool and Wolverine. The theatrical release is set for this coming Friday, July 26. Previews of critic’s opinions will be posted online starting today, July 23.
