Amazon’s Prime Video Interface Update Promises to Make It Easier to Tell What’s Included With Your Subscription — and What Costs Extra

As a long-time Prime Video user, I’m thrilled to see Amazon rolling out the biggest update to the platform’s user experience in two years. This new interface is a game-changer for me and many others who have been looking for a more intuitive streaming experience.

Amazon is rolling out a major overhaul of Prime Video’s interface for the first time in two years. According to Amazon, this upgrade will make the experience more streamlined and tailored to users, ultimately allowing them to discover new content and begin watching it more quickly.

As a long-time Prime Video user, I can’t help but feel excited about the upcoming changes to their user interface. For years, I’ve found it frustrating to sift through titles, unsure if they were included in my Prime membership or required an additional payment. This ambiguity has often led to unwelcome surprises and extra costs.

The new design of Prime Video’s interface includes a convenient navigation bar that allows users to quickly access various titles. It also offers an enhanced experience for exploring and subscribing to additional services, as well as managing these subscriptions. Furthermore, the platform utilizes advanced AI technology to suggest personalized content tailored to each viewer.

Starting from July 23, Amazon announced that the revised Prime Video interface will gradually be released worldwide. It is expected to be accessible to all users, including those with older devices, within several weeks.

Based on customer reviews, it’s evident that numerous Prime Video users are in need of a more user-friendly streaming service, mentioned Kam Keshmiri, the VP of design at Prime Video. By enhancing the user experience, customers will be able to explore an effortless and well-organized platform for discovering new content and revisiting favorites, as well as easily subscribing or upgrading add-ons with a few simple steps.

As someone who has been an avid user of streaming services for years, I can’t help but be excited about the recent update to Prime Video’s navigation bar. The new design is a game-changer, making it even easier for me to find and access the content I love.

With just a click on the “Subscriptions” tab in the navigation bar, Prime Video users can now explore, join, and control their active add-ons. Here, you’ll find a list of your current subscriptions, as well as new suggestions tailored to your interests, past rentals, and viewing history. Furthermore, this section will showcase special deals and discounted packages from external services. In the United States, Prime Video offers over 100 add-ons for customers to pick from.

Directly underneath the navigation menu is the “featured carousel.” This area showcases content that requires a subscription to view, along with titles that can be rented or bought. Additionally, it features various promotions such as discounts for Prime members and subscription packages. You have the option to immediately play, buy, or subscribe to watch the content displayed in the featured carousel.

With a living room gadget, videos begin playing automatically on the featured rotator while you decide which content to watch. In contrast, at the “Live TV” location, channels are suggested continuously and start playing automatically.

As a movie critic, I’ve noticed Amazon making some exciting improvements to Prime Video’s user interface. Instead of plain old page switches, they’ve added smooth transitions that feel like watching the scenes smoothly unfold in a movie. Plus, there are cool new animations and zoom effects that make navigating through the platform more engaging and cinematic.

Amazon’s improved personalization features, aided by AI technology, aim to help users discover suitable content more effortlessly. Instead of showing content from various add-ons and purchasing choices separately, Prime Video now arranges titles under the “Movies” and “TV Shows” tabs in a more cohesive way, tailored to your preferences. Additionally, you can explore recommendations as well as other categories such as “Popular in the U.S.” or “Trending Shows.”

I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting films to watch. Amazon makes it easy for me by using a clever system called Bedrock. This is an AWS service that Amazon manages for creating and expanding AI applications with fundamental models. In simpler terms, it generates personalized recommendations just for me based on my viewing history. Isn’t technology amazing?
