Whoopi Goldberg Criticizes Democrats For ‘Publicly’ Fighting Over Biden; Ana Navarro Says George Clooney Should Now Write a Big Check to Dems After Biden Exit

As a seasoned movie critic with over three decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I’ve seen my fair share of political dramas unfold both on and off the screen. The recent developments surrounding Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race struck a chord with me, especially given my background in politics and media.

“On the July 22 edition of ABC’s ‘The View’, hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Sara Haines initiated the discussion by addressing Joe Biden’s announcement that he would not run for president in 2024. Whoopi began the conversation by posing a question to her colleagues: ‘Everyone seems to be on board with this decision. Joe Biden has decided not to run for president again. Does everyone agree?'”

Hostin commended Biden for prioritizing his country over personal interests, stating, “He truly embodies what it means to be a patriot.” She added, “Biden’s exceptional presidency will be remembered in history as one of the greatest. I firmly believe this. However, I was uneasy about the pressure for him to leave office. I couldn’t support the internal strife within the Democratic party. Yet, I am reassured if Biden made this choice with his closest advisors and family.”

Hostin’s fellow hosts expressed their shared annoyance towards the Democratic party. Navarro expressed her gratitude towards Biden for withdrawing, but also voiced her anger. She pointed out that “I was equally frustrated because he’s been mercilessly criticized by some supposed friends for three weeks. I hope those donors who made disparaging comments about him will now make generous contributions.” George Clooney included in this group.

On July 10, Clooney grabbed attention by writing an opinion piece for The New York Times, calling on Biden to withdraw from his 2024 presidential campaign after a poor showing in the first debate. Emphasizing the importance of Democratic success in November, Clooney warned that Biden’s continued presence in the race would not lead to victory.

Goldberg expressed her preference for the Democrats handling of the pressure on Biden to step down in a more private manner. By making it a public spectacle, they sparked endless discussions about the issue. Regardless of who becomes the nominee, the American people will ultimately decide.

Instead, Haines supported the Democrats’ right to express their views on Biden not seeking the presidency.

She acknowledged that constructive criticism is expected when discussing such a significant role. Many supporters, including George Clooney, were conflicted about their stance but ultimately chose to speak up. This led to intense debates.

After Joe Biden officially ended his presidential campaign on July 21, I couldn’t help but take to X (previously known as Twitter) to express my gratitude. In a heartfelt post, I acknowledged, “It takes real courage and honor to recognize when it’s time to step aside and let the next generation lead. Thank you, Joe Biden, for doing what you believe is best for our country.”

During the initial broadcast of “The View” after Biden’s poor showing in the first 2024 presidential debate versus Trump, Griffin and co-host Sara Haines encouraged Biden to withdraw from the race.

“I think President Biden needs to step down and be replaced,” Haines told her co-hosts at the time. “If we want to defeat Donald Trump in November then I absolutely think that. I think Biden’s team saw it coming…Democrats need to stop spinning the age problem. A lot of people are concerned with his age and the Democrats have twisted themselves into a pretzel saying, ‘Don’t believe your lying eyes. It’s not true.’ Joy Behar is 81. Joy Behar at 81 is not Joe Biden at 81 and that was on full display last night.

Griffin expressed her surprise and disappointment in Biden’s debate performance, going as far as to label it “worse than anticipated.” She emphasized that while Donald Trump had been problematic with his deceitful words, Biden’s physical frailty stood out as even more concerning.

As someone who has closely followed American politics for decades and witnessed numerous presidential debates, I must admit that I was taken aback by the dismal showing of Joe Biden during his recent debate with Donald Trump. His performance was so lackluster and ineffective that it overshadowed everything Trump said. Don’t get me wrong; I believe that Trump poses a significant threat to our democracy, and we need a strong contender to challenge him. However, I fear that Biden may not be the one to do it.
