Leviatán Strikes Back, Beats G2 To Lift VCT Americas Stage 2 Trophy

As a huge fan of Leviatán, I couldn’t be happier for them after they finally took down G2 to win the VCT Americas Stage 2 Grand Final! It’s been quite the journey for this team, and they’ve faced their fair share of challenges. Remember when they were eliminated in the Group Stage of Kickoff and failed to qualify Masters Madrid? I did, and it was a tough blow for them and their fans.

At last, Leviatán emerged victorious in the VCT Americas Stage 2 Grand Final against G2 with a score of 3-1. Unfortunately, G2 came up just short of claiming the championship title for the second time in 2022, having made it to the finals once again.

“KiNgg expressed his profound joy personally after our victory. Previously, when we formed this team, we were met with much criticism and skepticism. People were rooting against us, expecting us to fail. So, to all the naysayers who wished for our downfall, I hope you’re feeling quite annoyed right now.”

At the Finale, Mazino stood out as the Most Valuable Player due to his pivotal contributions. His remarkable clutch plays and skillful picks significantly brought LEV near victory against their opponents.

The 2024 VCT season has taken Leviatán on an emotional ride. They were knocked out in the Group Stage of Kickoff and missed qualifying for Masters Madrid. However, they bounced back in Stage 1, although they fell short of reaching the Grand Final after losing to G2 in the Lower Grand Finals. Regardless, they managed to secure a spot at Masters Shanghai.

Despite missing out on the Playoffs in the first stage, they showed significant progress in Stage 2. They appeared stronger than ever, although they were knocked down to the Lower Bracket by G2. Surmounting all challenges, they eventually triumphed against G2 in the Upper Finals and clinched the top seed from the Americas region for Champions.

In the Upper Finals, G2 held the power to ban maps due to having the veto advantage. They eliminated Icebox and Sunset from the selection. Surprisingly, despite a strong start on Lotus, G2 found themselves in overtime against Leviatán who managed to keep up. The pressure mounted for G2 heading into Haven, but they were unable to secure a win, with Leviatán taking it 16-14 and reaching the series point.

G2 managed to force a second map in the series by securing a convincing victory on Bind with a score of 13-9. However, Leviatán bounced back strongly on Ascent, overwhelming G2 with a dominating performance and winning the map (and ultimately the series) with a scoreline of 13-4, resulting in a 3-1 victory.
