One Piece Season 2 Won't Feature Jamie Lee Curtis

As a dedicated One Piece fan and fervent admirer of Jamie Lee Curtis’ acting prowess, I was thrilled when I heard the fan casting suggesting her for the role of Dr. Kureha in the upcoming season 2. Her enthusiasm towards the project was palpable as she even went so far as to share a piece of fan art featuring herself as the character on Instagram. It seemed like a perfect match, and I couldn’t help but feel that her portrayal would add an extra layer of depth and authenticity to the series.

After the premiere of the live-action One Piece series on Netflix last year, fans suggested Jamie Lee Curtis for the role of Dr. Kureha in Season 2. Delighted by this fan suggestion, Curtis expressed her intent to campaign for the part following the conclusion of the actors’ strike. Regrettably, Tomorrow Studios, the production company responsible for the series, announced that Curtis would not be joining the show.

As a seasoned entertainment industry insider with years of experience under my belt, I can understand the complexities of scheduling and prioritizing projects for high-profile actors. Based on the information provided by Tomorrow Studios president Becky Clements to Deadline, it seems that the actress in question is incredibly popular and has a demanding schedule.

Last year, Curtis deeply cherished the thought of portraying Dr. Kureha and expressed this enthusiasm by creating and sharing this fan artwork depicting herself in the role.

Despite this, Clements revealed that an exceptional individual has been chosen to play Dr. Kureha in Season 2 of the show. The identity of this person is still undisclosed. On the other hand, Curtis will take on a prominent role as Dr. Patricia Tannis in the Borderlands movie, which is set to be released on August 9.

One Piece Season 2 is currently in production, but Netflix hasn’t set a premiere date yet.
