NAVI Win Inaugural Esports World Cup In Counter-Strike 2

As a devoted CS:GO fan, I can’t help but be elated by the thrilling grand final of the Counter-Strike 2 Esports World Cup 2024 between Natus Vincere (NAVI) and G2 esports. The intensity was palpable as both teams showcased their skills in a Best of Three game, with Ancient, Nuke, and Inferno serving as the battlegrounds.

At the thrilling finale of the Counter-Strike 2 competition in the Esports World Cup 2024, Natus Vincere and G2 esports clashed to be the inaugural champions.

In the Best of Three competition, both teams gave their finest performances. G2 secured the first map, Ancient, which was unexpectedly prolonged into overtime, resulting in a hard-fought victory for them with a score of 16:14. However, NAVI responded strongly on their chosen map, Nuke, putting pressure on G2 and clinching a tight win with a score of 6:13. This brought us to the deciding map, Inferno.

At historic tournaments, this map was a stronghold for G2, with NiKo and HooXi orchestrating effective strategies. However, for this elite competition, G2 fielded a fresh roster, featuring newcomers Snax and malbsMd. Despite their best efforts, the two newest members struggled to keep pace with top performers like NAVI’s b1t, who consistently thwarted opponents’ advances.

In a fitting climax, NAVI clinched the CS2 EWC Inferno championship with a 6:13 win, securing their first place finish and a prize money of $400,000. Although they came in second place, G2 still had something to celebrate as their teammate NiKo was named CS2 PlayStation MVP, adding an additional $50,000 to his winnings.
