Legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh Joins Pokemon Unite For 3rd Anniversary

As a long-time Pokémon UNITE fan, I am beyond thrilled about Ho-Oh joining the game for its third anniversary! Ho-Oh’s abilities, Regenerator and Rekindling Flame, sound incredibly strategic and engaging. The anticipation of waiting to regenerate HP with Regenerator adds an extra layer of depth to the Defender role, while reviving knocked-out allies with Rekindling Flame could potentially turn the tide of a match.

In honor of Pokémon UNITE’s third anniversary, Ho-Oh, the legendary ranged Defender, will join the game on both Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms. Ho-Oh is known for its unique ability, Regenerator, which enables it to recover HP after a brief period of not taking damage. Additionally, Ho-Oh’s Unite Move, Rekindling Flame, allows it to use accumulated Aeos energy to resuscitate fallen teammates.

“Ho-Oh’s moves will keep players on their toes the entire match,” developers promise.

The Ho-Oh Memorial Event kicks off on July 19th and continues until August 11th. In this period, participants receive a daily free die roll. Progress on the gameboard is made by rolling the die and completing the assigned task for the landed space. Successfully finishing tasks allows for another die roll. By successfully finishing the event and amassing 1000 Divine Forest coins, players are rewarded with Ho-Oh’s Unite license.

At the same time as Ho-Oh’s Memorial Event and the upcoming Battle Pass, which starts on July 21 and runs until September 4, there are also some other in-game events that begin today.

  • Panic Parade Revival (19 July – 4 September) –  A returning tower-defense game mode in which players protect Tinkaton.

  • During the Charizard Unite License Distribution event, which runs from July 19 to September 2, logging in grants you the option to select either a Charizard hat, the Charizard Unite license, or 100 Aeos coins as your reward.
