More recently, the Russo brothers have been in charge of Marvel’s 2019 blockbuster Avengers: Endgame. Previously, there had been discussions about Shawn Levy, director of Deadpool and Wolverine, taking on at least one new Avengers project. The report indicated that Levy was initially given the offer before negotiations changed in favor of the Russo brothers.

As a dedicated gamer following the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I’m excitedly looking forward to two upcoming Avengers installments. Initially named “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” the fifth Avengers movie is now set for release in May 2026, following some title changes due to circumstances beyond our control. Subsequently, “Avengers: Secret Wars” is scheduled for a May 2027 premiere.
According to a recent report, The Avengers: Endgame sequel may include over 60 Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) characters. Benedict Cumberbatch, the actor portraying Doctor Strange in the MCU, hinted that production might commence as early as next year.
I’m a huge fan of the Russo brothers! They began their careers in the television industry, directing episodes for shows like Arrested Development and Community. After that, they moved on to directing the film “You, Me, and Dupree” (2006) and producing the series “Crashing” (2007). The Russo brothers made their mark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” in 2014. They continued to impress us with “Captain America: Civil War” in 2016, “Avengers: Infinity War” in 2018, and the epic “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019.
Joe Russo penned down the Netflix productions “Extraction” and its sequel, while the duo collaborated once more for “The Gray Man,” a Netflix project featuring Ryan Gosling in the lead role. Upcoming for them this year is “The Electric State” on Netflix, an intriguing sci-fi production boasting the talents of Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Brian Cox, Anthony Mackie, Billy Bob Thornton, and other renowned actors.
