Fox Reveals Fall Premiere Dates, Including the Return of ‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ After Its Strike-Induced 15-Month Hiatus

As a dedicated movie buff with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation as I read through this latest news from Fox. The return of “9-1-1: Lone Star” after such a long hiatus is certainly something to look forward to, and the addition of new shows like “Rescue HI-Surf” and “Universal Basic Guys” only adds to my enthusiasm.

As a movie reviewer, I’m excited to share some news with you all! After a long wait of almost a year and a half, “9-1-1: Lone Star” on Fox is finally coming back for its Season 5 premiere. Mark your calendars, folks, as the action-packed Rob Lowe series will make its triumphant return on Monday, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. This date kicks off a fantastic premiere week for Fox and represents the first new episode since May 2023. (“9-1-1: Lone Star” took a brief hiatus last season due to Hollywood strikes.) Can’t wait to dive back in!

Fox announced some new schedule adjustments on Tuesday, one being the change in return date for “Crime Scene Kitchen,” hosted by Joel McHale. The show is now set to premiere its third season in the fall, airing Thursdays at 9 p.m., following “Hell’s Kitchen” (back with Season 23). The initially planned show behind “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” (Season 3), will now debut during the midseason instead.

As a film enthusiast, I’m always excited about the upcoming television seasons, especially when it comes to Fox’s fall schedule. Instead of waiting until October like some networks, Fox kicks things off in September by leveraging the popularity of NFL games to introduce fresh content. One such offering is the new animated series “Universal Basic Guys,” which debuts on my calendar on Sept. 8. To make it even more enticing, new episodes of two of my favorite shows – “Bob’s Burgers” and “The Great North” – will also be premiering that day. Can’t wait to see what these shows have in store for us!

On September 22, Fox will showcase a sneak peek of the first episode of “Rescue HI-Surf” by John Wells during an NFL doubleheader. The series will then officially air in its regular Monday slot the following night. Fox is very excited about this show and has even scheduled it to follow the Super Bowl LIX on February 9.

On Tuesday, September 24, the first episode of “Murder in a Small Town,” which is part of other premieres, will last for 90 minutes. Starting from October 1, Season 2 of “Accused” will follow suit. Meanwhile, “The Masked Singer” and “The Floor” will make their comeback on Wednesday, September 25.

In addition to “Special Forces,” there are several new shows joining Fox’s lineup during the midseason. These include the dramas “Alert: Missing Persons Unit,” “The Cleaning Lady,” and “Doc,” as well as the comedies “Animal Control,” “Family Guy,” “Going Dutch,” “The Great North,” and “Grimsburg.” Returning unscripted shows are “Extracted,” “Lego Masters,” “MasterChef,” “Name That Tune,” and “Next Level Chef.” Fox has also scheduled the specials “Lego Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular” and “The Real Full Monty.”

Based on my years of experience in the television industry, I wholeheartedly agree with Fox TV network president Michael Thorn’s assessment of this year’s original lineup. As a longtime viewer and industry insider, I can attest to the fact that Fox has consistently delivered fresh, captivating characters and stories that leave a lasting impression.
