FFXIV – Where to unlock Arcadion / AAC Light-heavyweight Tier and gear

As a dedicated Final Fantasy XIV player with years of experience under my belt, I can’t contain my excitement for the latest addition to the game: the Arcadion raids and their accompanying Light-heavy gear! With patch 7.01, the first tier of these epic 8-person battles has finally arrived, offering us Warriors of Light a chance to face off against beast-infused opponents.

As a dedicated gamer of Final Fantasy XIV, I’m thrilled about patch 7.01 and the long-awaited addition of the first tier of 8-person raids in Arcadion. These battles against adversaries infused with the powerful souls of beasts are called AAC Light-heavyweight fights, and here’s how you can access them:

As a dedicated gamer, I’m always on the lookout for the best equipment to enhance my character and conquer new challenges. The Arcadion’s first-tier gear is an excellent addition to my collection, offering item levels up to 710 – the highest I can currently obtain, except for jewelry and weapons from existing extreme trials with identical levels. This gear is a must-have for me as it prepares me well for the upcoming Savage raids releasing with patch 7.05. These high-difficulty 8-player encounters will test my skills like never before, making this first-tier gear an essential investment in my gaming journey.

To initiate the Arcadion raid series, which includes the initial four battles referred to as the AAC Light-heavyweight Tier, begin the quest “A New Challenger Emerges” with the NPC named Stylish Stranger. This Lalafell is in charge of Arcadion and will act as your guide and announcer for upcoming fights.

Once you finish the initial quest in the Arcadion saga, you’ll have the opportunity to see the items you’ll collect pieces for. At Nexus Arcade, you’ll find Hhihwi and the Arcadion Relic Exchange, where you’ll swap your earned tokens from battles.

Which gear tokens to get for Arcadion gear in FFXIV

In contrast to standard dungeons, participating in 8-person raids results in receiving gear tokens rather than complete equipment sets. You can exchange a specified number of these tokens with Hhihwi for the actual gear items. Every week, you have the opportunity to obtain one token from each of the four encounters, but keep in mind that you’ll be competing against other raid members to earn them. Feel free to attempt the fight as many times as desired within a week, but only one token per encounter can be earned. Strategize and decide which equipment pieces are most valuable for you beforehand.

In the table below, you’ll find out how many tokens are required for each gear component. Due to its popularity, several players will be targeting the body piece (equivalent to a shirt) token during battles. Consequently, if you’re set on acquiring the new stylish gear, you might need to engage in the fights again a few times before securing that coveted drop.

Gear PieceGear TokenNumber Needed
HeadLight-heavy holohelm2
BodyLight-heavy holoarmor4
HandsLight-heavy hologuantlets2
LegsLight-heavy holochausses4
FeetLight-heavy hologreaves2
AccessoriesLight-heavy holoearring1 per piece
WeaponLight-heavy holoblade7

To provide a clearer explanation using simpler language: If you don’t need to collect all farming tokens for body or leg equipment in the table, consider focusing on obtaining less popular but still beneficial items instead. For instance, two hologreaves and two holoearrings can earn you a total of three new 710-level gear pieces. Item levels are significant, yet if your objective is to advance with minimal effort beyond tomestone farming or mastering an extreme trial, this method offers the simplest and most expedient approach for casual players.

How to use Light-heavy holoblades in FFXIV

After finishing the last battle in the raid’s tier, such as AAC Light-heavyweight M4, each player will be awarded a Light-heavy holoblade token without needing to roll for it. Currently, this token cannot be used for anything, but players should keep it as they will receive a new one every week in the future.

After accumulating seven Light-heavy holoblades over a period of seven weeks, I’ll be able to trade them in for a Universal Tomestone. Throughout the history of the game, these tomestones have been valuable tools for unlocking advanced weapons tailored to my job. The quicker I manage to obtain those holoblades, the sooner I can work towards acquiring the next superior weapon the game has to offer.
