
Netflix has a new thriller that’s likely to appeal to fans of Stranger Things. Called Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, it’s created by the same team behind the hit supernatural series and focuses on a couple during the weeks before their wedding, hinting at a dark and unsettling story.
Netflix has released a first look at its upcoming series, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen. Created by Haley Z. Boston and executive produced by the Duffer brothers (known for Stranger Things), the show centers on a couple preparing to get married. The teaser suggests that things won’t go as planned. Starring Camila Morrone as the bride, Rachel, the series hints at unsettling and possibly supernatural events leading up to the wedding. The teaser trailer is available to watch now.
The cast of Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen includes Morrone, Adam DiMarco (known for The White Lotus), Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Ted Levine (Monk), Gus Birney (The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window), Jeff Wilbusch (Unorthodox), Karla Crome (The Last Disturbance of Madeline Hynde), Sawyer Fraser (The Good Doctor), and Zlatko Burić (Triangle of Sadness). Weronika Tofilska, an Emmy nominee, directed several episodes, along with Axelle Carolyn (The Haunting of Bly Manor) and Lisa Brühlmann (Servant). Tofilska also served as an executive producer with the Duffer Brothers, Boston, Hilary Leavitt, and Andrea Sperling. Here’s what Netflix says the show is about:
This seven-episode series centers on Rachel and Nicky as they prepare for their wedding. While details are being kept under wraps, creator Sharon Horgan describes the show’s style as a blend of the films Carrie and Rosemary’s Baby, incorporating humor, unsettling moments, and a sense of unease. Horgan also drew from the real-life, enduring relationship of her own parents.
