After this impressive feat, FromSoftware understandably shifted their focus back to Elden Ring for the Shadow of The Erdtree DLC.
More recently, there have been whispers of potential advancements for the franchise, potentially involving the roll-out of an Armored Core 6 expansion pack. In this piece, we delve into these rumors and assess the likelihood of such a development.
Armored Core 6 DLC Rumors Heat Up As FromSoftware Lists A New Job Vacancy
A user on tech4gamers recently shared a report in which FromSoftware advertised a job opening that is believed to be connected to Armored Core 6. The nature of the listing hints towards potential DLC for AC6, but it’s important to note that there are differing opinions regarding this interpretation (further details on that will be discussed later).
Armored Core. There’s no official confirmation yet, but it seems plausible that a downloadable content (DLC) could be their next move, considering the initial launch of the game was successful despite being an under-the-radar IP from FromSoftware.
I came across some intriguing findings last year while exploring the files of Armored Core 6. Insider Zullie brought it to my attention that there were references to Downloadable Content (DLC) hidden within the game’s message text. Messages like “710000 DLC parts have been disabled” and “710030 Ownership status of DLC has changed, affecting AC assembly” caught my eye. These hints suggest that Armored Core 6 might indeed have a DLC expansion, adding even more excitement to the game!
In Armored Core 6’s text messages, there are a few references to downloadable content (DLC). Normally, each numbered Armored Core game has had a follow-up title where you could transfer your save data, such as Armored Core 4 and Armored Core: For Answer. However, it seems that instead of a new game in the series, Armored Core 6 may offer a substantial expansion through DLC.

Several gamers hold the view that FromSoftware will release Armored Core 7 as the successor to Armored Core, instead of producing additional downloadable content (DLC) for Armored Core 6. While Armored Core 6 achieved solid sales, it did not surpass the success of Elden Ring and its expansion, The Shadow of the Erdtree. Some skeptics question if Armored Core 6 was successful enough to merit an expansion, but FromSoftware retains the final decision. They could opt for an expansion due to a shorter development period and more time to prepare for their next major project.
Currently, our best course of action is to stay informed and be patient as FromSoftware decides on its next steps following the release of Shadow of The Erdtree.
