The Macmillan Tower egg sac in DBD is spreading, and fans are speculating what it could hatch

As a dedicated gamer with thousands of hours logged into Dead by Daylight, I can’t help but feel intrigued and slightly unnerved by the mysterious egg sac that’s been growing on the Macmillan Tower for what feels like an eternity. I confess, I’m one of those players who tends to focus more on the action happening on the ground rather than looking up at the towering structures in the game.

As a gamer, if I don’t bother checking above structures like the Macmillan Tower in Dead by Daylight, I might overlook the egg sacs that have appeared and are spreading.

During a recent in-game occurrence, the egg sack emerged for the first time on the Macmillan map’s water tower. Although it initially remained intact, as new episodes and happenings unfolded, the sack has been expanding and hatching a mystery creature that we have yet to discover.

Based on the developers’ statement during the DBD AMA on Reddit that we should stay tuned, fans have begun to ponder what might emerge from the ominous eggs.

Now that this egg sac on the Macmillan tower has been growing for months and the devs recently said to “Keep an eye on it” – What are our theories?

Some individuals ponder if the appearance of Frank Stone in the game, which resembles a collaboration between Supermassive and Behaviour Interactive (in the manner of Until Dawn), could be connected to this issue. However, given that this element has existed in the game for quite some time, it seems extremely doubtful. The developers have suggested that there will be overlap between the two games; yet, this occurrence appears too premature for such an event.

Some people believe that the upcoming chapter may be related to the original one, set for release later this year. Theories suggest that the Killer could be a spider-like creature in this instalment.

In Tome 10 of the Rift, clues exist suggesting that an upcoming Killer may be arachnid-themed. Upon examining the descriptions of all charms within this tome, you’ll notice references to infestations: Arachnid Eggs, Hatchlings, a Predator, and a Mother whose spider offspring will spread throughout the realm – an utterly chilling concept. The gradually expanding egg sacs from which legs emerge definitely bear a striking resemblance to spiders.

Developing a Spider-like killer in Dead by Daylight comes with its own challenges, primarily due to the spider’s leg width. Nevertheless, Behaviour Interactive has successfully introduced distinctive characters such as Chucky, so now could be an excellent opportunity for creating another intriguing Killer, preferably one that can cling to walls and ceilings – if they do, I might not make it in real life!

Yet, some players point out that the entity bears resemblance to it for me as well. Since the Entity is the one who summoned everyone to the game world, introducing it as a tangible character would add an exciting layer to the gameplay experience.

Yet, I’d prefer if the Entity engaged in confrontations with both Killers and Survivors, adding challenge to everyone’s experience. A more suitable application for an event or game modification might be during Halloween when the mystery of the eggs could potentially unfold.

In addition to thought-provoking theories, some witty remarks can also be found. For instance, people have jokingly suggested that Lara Croft, the legendary survivor, will make an appearance in the game soon, possibly even hatching from an egg. However, I find it highly unlikely that this will actually happen.

A humorous observation from LinkCanLonk that amused me is about discovering an egg sac atop the tower. Frankly, given how unpredictable these matches can be, I rarely take my gaze off the action. Let’s hope whatever’s inside the sac will be unveiled soon. In the meantime, we’ll stay tuned and keep a watchful eye.
