Terminator Zero Anime Teaser Trailer Brings Judgment Day To Japan

As a long-time fan of the Terminator franchise, I’ve spent countless hours pondering over the intricacies of Skynet and its relentless pursuit to eliminate humanity. But Netflix’s upcoming anime series, Terminator Zero, promises to bring a fresh perspective to the storyline by focusing on the events unfolding in Japan during the countdown to Judgment Day.

In the Terminator films shown on large screens, the events taking place outside of humanity’s future conflict with Skynet and machines have not been clearly depicted. However, starting next month, Netflix’s anime series titled “Terminator Zero” will transport viewers to Japan as the clock ticks down towards Judgment Day. In the initial teaser trailer for this show, a soldier from the resistance named Eiko outlines the urgency of humanity’s predicament.

In the year 1997, Eiko – a young woman who’s been time-traveled from an alternate 2022 – is tasked with safeguarding scientist Malcolm Lee. Malcolm is a renowned figure in their time, working on a project that could challenge Skynet. Tortured by premonitions of a devastated world, Malcolm braces for Judgment Day, the impending apocalypse threatening humanity’s existence. Unbelievably, these fears become a reality when a Terminator from the future materializes to eliminate Malcolm and his three kids.

In the upcoming series, Timothy Olyphant lends his voice for the character of the Terminator, while Andre Holland joins the cast as Malcolm. Sonoya Mizuno is among the stars, portraying Eiko, and Rosario Dawson will be the voice behind Kokoro, an A.I. version of Skynet, which assists Malcolm. Furthermore, Ann Dowd takes on a role as The Prophet, acting as the spiritual and philosophical guide for the Resistance in the future.

All episodes of Terminator Zero will premiere on Netflix on August 29.
