DICE has announced the full details of Battlefield 6’s Season 2 update, including new maps, weapons, vehicles, and limited-time modes.
Just like last season, the new stuff for Battlefield 6 is rolling out in three parts, with something fresh hitting the game each month. The first drop, called ‘Extreme Measures’, is landing on February 17th when Season 2 kicks off. I’m already hyped to check it out!
Extreme Measures (February 17)
I’m so excited for Battlefield 6! They’re adding this huge new map called ‘Contaminated,’ and it’s set in the mountains of Germany. It looks like it’s going to be perfect for all-out vehicle warfare – tanks, helicopters, the works! It’s going to be epic.
A new map is being released along with the VL-7 Strike limited-time mode. This mode features hallucinogenic smoke that can cause you to see and hear things that aren’t there, but you can protect yourself by wearing a gas mask.
Season 2 introduces several new weapons and tools, including the GRT-CPS DMR, VCR-2 Assault Rifle, M121 A2 Machine Gun, HTI-Mk2 Gadget, and 9K38 IGLA Launcher.
The update also reintroduces the AH-6 Little Bird Helicopter, giving experienced players a powerful new way to dominate on multiple maps.
Nightfall (March 17)
The Nightfall update introduces Hagental Base, a new map designed for intense, close-range infantry combat. It’s located in an underground facility near the Contaminated area.
The Nightfall limited-time mode plunges players into complete darkness, requiring them to use night vision goggles or flashlights to see their way through the map.
You’ll also be able to unlock the GZ3A1 SMG and VZ. 61 Sidearm as part of the update.
Hunter / Prey (April 14)
Operation Augur introduces a new Hunter / Prey mode, taking inspiration from the popular Operations mode in Battlefield 1. Players will battle across two maps – Contaminated and Hagental Base – and if the attacking team succeeds on the first map, the action continues on the second.
It also brings the LTV vehicle and Ripper 14” Machete Melee weapon.
