Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has announced that a follow-up to the hit movie F1 is officially being planned. F1, released on June 27, 2025, was a major success, earning $189.6 million in the US and $633.1 million globally. It’s now Apple Original Films’ most successful movie ever. Surprisingly, it even received a Best Picture nomination at the 98th Academy Awards, surpassing other well-regarded films like No Other Choice, It Was Just an Accident, and Blue Moon.
At The Hollywood Reporter’s Nominees Night on February 10, 2026, Jerry Bruckheimer revealed that development on a sequel is underway. He mentioned they are crafting the story and collaborating with Lewis Hamilton, who is a co-producer and former Formula One driver, to get his input on potential ideas. When asked about Brad Pitt potentially reprising his role, Bruckheimer playfully responded that it was too early to say.
This is a developing story.
