Players 173, Jim, and 152, Monika, became fan favorites on Beast Games thanks to their romance – they went from not knowing each other to getting married (in a way) during Season 2. However, the latest episode ends with a big question mark: did Jim turn against Monika?
Episode 8 of Season 2 is a significant step up from the last one, which largely focused on the finalists’ family dinners and then reintroduced the challenging ‘Million Dollar Split or Steal’ test originally used in Season 1.
This week’s episode of Beast Games Season 2 reveals the results of the current competition and also gives us a preview of the next game, which will determine the six players who advance to the final challenge.
Jim and Monika have always been a devoted couple, meeting and falling in love while filming a Prime Video series. However, the latest episode hints that Jim may have broken Monika’s trust. Be warned – spoilers follow!
Did Jim betray Monika in Beast Games Season 2?

It’s likely Jim never informed Player 172 (Auguste) about Monika’s secret. Instead, Auguste may be pretending he knows to pressure Monika into revealing it herself.
The game ‘Million Dollar Split or Steal’ begins with a prize of $1 million. Players take turns deciding how much of the remaining money to keep, with each player going until the million is gone.
Players have a choice: they can keep all the money for themselves, or share some to leave more for everyone else. When it’s Monika’s turn, MrBeast offers her an additional $500,000 for the gold coin she received during Beast Games Season 2.
Monika makes a brilliant move: she accepts the $500,000 prize but cleverly hides it, and then chooses not to take any more money from the remaining million-dollar fund.

The other contestants see her as a fantastic teammate. Naturally, Monika tells her partner, Jim, and he vows to keep her secret forever.
In Season 2, Episode 8, Auguste reveals he’s been analyzing how bribes have been offered throughout the show. He specifically believes Monika accepted a bribe during the money challenge, stating, “I am so confident that she took a bribe at the money pool.”
In the next round, the ten finalists will each vote for who they think should move on to the final game. This voting process will repeat until only six finalists are left.
Auguste plans to use a secret he knows about Monika and Jim to force them to vote for him. He calls Monika, revealing he knows she sold the coin. She insists she didn’t, but Auguste claims Jim confessed to it.
The episode cuts off before we find out if Jim betrayed Monika. However, considering his strong loyalty to her and the benefit he’d gain by keeping her secret – namely, a better chance of reaching the finale – it’s probably Auguste who’s pretending to know something, hoping to trick Monika into confessing.
Season 2 Episode 8 cliffhanger ending sparks theory

Most viewers of Beast Games Season 2 feel the same way, and many are trying to guess what will happen next. The most popular idea is that Monika believes Jim kept quiet, but she’ll still vote for Auguste to stop him from revealing the coin to the other contestants.
I was reading Reddit, and someone made a really good point about Jim. They were saying he’s totally messed up for spilling the beans – even if he didn’t say it directly, he shouldn’t have talked about it at all. They figured if you really care about someone, you definitely don’t go behind their back and rat them out.
Someone else suggested Auguste might have fabricated the story, anticipating Monika would share it with Jim. Another person claimed Jim hadn’t revealed anything, but that Auguste discovered Monika had sold the coin by noticing a pattern in the bribes exchanged during their games.
They explained that Auguste fabricated the story about Jim to create confusion and gain an advantage. They added that Auguste is intelligent and determined to succeed.
Someone else agreed, pointing out that the camera repeatedly showed Auguste while Jim and Monika had a private conversation, and that his final conclusion was a very clever move.

He sensed something wasn’t right and knew exactly how to exploit it, successfully damaging the couple’s trust. This move likely guarantees his continued involvement right up to the season finale.
Monika’s clever decision to accept the bribe, even though she didn’t gain any money, was a brilliant move. However, someone discovered what she did, which will definitely complicate things now.
A lot of people have noticed that Auguste carefully explains his reasoning to Monika before calling her, and that reasoning doesn’t involve Jim at all.
According to Auguste, JC received the immunity idol after the island challenge. Then, before the next challenge, he was offered $50,000 to give it up. He ultimately passed the idol to Monika, was eliminated from the game, and then Monika was offered $100,000 to relinquish it before her next challenge.
Then there was the money pool situation. She hasn’t been caught taking bribes yet, and I’ve noticed a strange pattern. Someone was consistently bribing her before each game, but that stopped recently. I’m trying to figure out why.

Jimmy was planning to sell the coin because he didn’t want to pay the additional five million dollars. That’s why I’m certain she accepted a bribe from the money pool. She isn’t telling the truth, and I believe she has gained at least $200,000, probably more.
In short, Auguste is no fool.
One viewer shared their prediction for next week’s episode: they believe Monika will see through Auguste’s lies and confront him. They asked others if they agreed with this theory.
Someone else added that she couldn’t challenge Auguste’s claims, because he would reveal damaging information, effectively ending both her and Jim’s campaigns.
Someone else mentioned that Auguste deserved recognition simply for spotting the pattern, and they also thought the plan was good.
Monika seems worried because if she doesn’t act, Auguste might reveal everything to everyone. She’s meant to have the actual coin as proof, but without it, just talking won’t be enough to protect her.
Another person added, “I believe she suspects Jim wouldn’t directly say anything, but she might think he accidentally revealed something. Because it’s too dangerous to let Auguste tell everyone, she’ll likely pressure Jim to vote for him instead.”
Beast Games fans debate Season 2 winner

The second season of Beast Game is receiving high praise, and fans are split on who they’re rooting for – Monika or Auguste. Interestingly, most people betting on the outcome – 89% on the Polymarket platform – are predicting Player 167 (Tyler) will win.
Just because he can win doesn’t mean he will, and honestly, after what happened in Season 2, Episode 8, I’m not even sure if most of us want him to. It really changed how people see him, you know?
Fans are upset with Player 118, Nick, after he was selected as captain for the ‘Million Dollar Split or Steal’ challenge. He had the first pick but chose to take $250,000 instead of risking it for a potentially larger share.

Honestly, it really bugged me when Nick took the $250,000 and then got upset at everyone for not making him captain. It was like, he totally showed them why they were right to choose someone else! It just felt super frustrating to watch.
I’ve been hoping Nick and Monika would get together for most of the season, so I was really disappointed by his actions. And the way Jim relayed information – saying ‘he pretty much told me’ – felt incredibly dramatic and over-the-top.
Someone else commented that Auguste has quickly become a popular player. They pointed out that last season, everyone had their favorites established by now, and Auguste likely improved his standing with that risky move. They also wondered how no one had noticed something before.
Someone else commented that things are likely to escalate, predicting Auguste will exploit information about Monika to gain votes, and they were also puzzled by a segment involving Jim. They admitted that while they previously favored Monika, this episode has made them unsure and now they’re torn between supporting her and Auguste.
You can now watch episodes 1 through 8 of Beast Games Season 2 on Prime Video. The ninth and final episode will be available on February 18th.
Catch up on what happened with Ian (Player 148) and his island, learn why Ethan (Player 21) left the competition, and discover what caused Jack (Player 58) to start a discussion.
