Considered by many to be one of the best films of all time, the classic western The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is currently available to stream for free. Throughout the history of westerns – from their golden age to the more modern films we see today – there have been incredible movies, like the thrilling The Magnificent Seven, The Wild Bunch, and 3:10 to Yuma. There are also slower, more reflective westerns such as both versions of True Grit and Unforgiven. But if you ask most movie fans to name the greatest western ever, chances are they’ll say The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. And even if you didn’t need a reason, now’s a perfect time to revisit this Clint Eastwood masterpiece.
You can currently watch the classic film The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly on Tubi for free, but it won’t be available for long. It’s listed as leaving the platform soon, and while Tubi doesn’t specify exact dates, it’s expected to be gone by the end of February. If you want to enjoy this movie without paying, now’s the time to watch it!
Sergio Leone’s The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is a cinematic masterpiece that needs little introduction. Written by Leone alongside Luciano Vincenzoni and Agenore Incrocci, the film once again stars Clint Eastwood as the iconic Man With No Name – a character he previously played in A Fistful of Dollars and A Few Dollars More. The story unfolds during the Civil War, and follows the Man With No Name (whose real name is Joe) as he reluctantly partners with the ruthless outlaw Tuco (Eli Wallach) in a bounty hunter scheme. When the scheme nearly costs them their lives, the two enemies are forced to team up again – this time to find a hidden fortune belonging to a fallen Civil War soldier, all while dodging a cruel and dangerous rival also seeking the treasure. The entire film is a triumph, but the climactic final gunfight is widely considered one of the greatest showdowns in movie history.

Quentin Tarantino is a well-known fan of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly and the entire Dollars trilogy. In a 2025 interview with Bill Maher, he explained what sets it apart: “Each film is better than the one before it. The first is excellent, but the second surpasses it, and then the third, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, tops them all. That’s something you rarely see in a film series.”
