Chris Pratt is returning to star in a new movie for Apple TV, a project that feels like a great next step after his critically-acclaimed but often overlooked show on Amazon Prime Video.
There’s been some confusion about whether Chris Pratt will be back for Avengers: Doomsday. It’s currently unclear if he’ll return as Star-Lord in the new Marvel movie. However, Pratt has a lot of other interesting projects coming up, including one role that will feel similar to his work in a previous action thriller on Prime Video.
This film is adapted from a popular novel and will be available to stream on Apple TV starting November 20, 2026.
After The Terminal List, Chris Pratt Is All Set To Play A Navy SEAL Again In An Apple TV Movie
Everyone probably knows Chris Pratt as Star-Lord from the Marvel movies, but for me, his really compelling role is in The Terminal List on Prime Video. He plays James Sullivan Reece, a Navy SEAL officer, and the show just gets more and more intense as he uncovers this dark conspiracy happening back home. It’s a really gripping story!
Chris Pratt will be playing a Navy SEAL once more, but this time in a lighter, family-friendly Apple TV movie called Way of the Warrior Kid. The story won’t be as intense or dark as some of his previous roles.
Despite receiving mostly negative reviews from critics – earning a 41% score on Rotten Tomatoes – The Terminal List was popular with viewers. This success led to a sequel, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, which again featured Chris Pratt as James Reece, though not as the central figure.
It’s uncertain if Chris Pratt will reprise the role of Reece in a significant way, but his performance as a Navy SEAL in Way of the Warrior Kid is a great continuation of the character he played in his Prime Video series.
Way Of The Warrior Kid Is Based On A Book Written By A Former Navy SEAL
Apple TV
Based on the popular book by Jocko Willink, Way of the Warrior Kid, directed by McG, tells the story of an 11-year-old boy who is being bullied. Over the summer, he trains with his Navy SEAL uncle and discovers how to find strength within himself. Jocko Willink is also a former Navy SEAL and a veteran of the Iraq War.
I recently stumbled upon a really cool video where a former Navy SEAL broke down the action sequences in Chris Pratt’s show, The Terminal List, right alongside Pratt himself! It’s a fascinating watch – you can check it out below, and it offers a unique perspective on how those scenes were put together.
Given Jocko Willink and Chris Pratt’s established working relationship, plus Willink’s experience as a Navy SEAL, it’s easy to get enthusiastic about Apple TV’s adaptation of Way of the Warrior Kid.
