2025 was a strong year for gaming overall, but several games sparked a lot of debate. One RPG in particular, Monster Hunter Wilds, really stood out – players either loved it or strongly disliked it, even with the many updates and additions it received after launch.
The newest update to Monster Hunter Wilds has improved the game’s performance, addressing a long-standing request from players. As a result, reviews on Steam are starting to become more positive, potentially shifting the game’s overall rating from mixed to favorable, as noted by Reddit user Archaeus20.
Monster Hunter Wilds’ Latest Patch Is Game-Changing
The newest patch for Monster Hunter Wilds, released after the fourth major update, has received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Players are praising improvements to performance – including better use of GPUs and CPUs, reduced RAM usage, and more customizable settings – and for the first time since the game launched, positive reviews far outweigh the negative ones.
Capcom is continuing to improve the game’s performance with another update planned for February. While a recent fix for a bug that checked for downloadable content helped, the latest update for Wilds includes many other improvements that make it a great time to revisit the game if you’ve been holding off.
Wilds’ Might Finally Achieve A Positive Review Score On Steam
Although it might take a while for Monster Hunter Wilds to overcome the many negative reviews it’s gotten recently, it’s likely we’ll soon see its Steam rating improve from ‘Mixed’ to ‘Mostly Positive’.
Despite previous efforts to address negative feedback, Monster Hunter Wilds has made its biggest improvement yet: it can now run at a stable 30 frames per second on the Steam Deck, making it genuinely playable on the device.
Many players couldn’t fully enjoy what was considered one of the best RPGs of 2025 due to technical problems. It’s good to see Capcom addressing these issues with Monster Hunter Wilds before releasing its planned expansion.
