Arc Raiders dev confirms looting nerf was “not intended”

The Arc Raiders team has acknowledged that a recent update accidentally reduced how quickly players collect loot. They’re working on a fix that should be released shortly.

The first big update of 2026 for Arc Raiders, called Highwinds, is now available! It adds a lot of new content to the popular extraction shooter, including new quests and a special event called Bird City.

After the recent update, players realized it took much longer to see items inside containers, making them vulnerable to surprise attacks. This change wasn’t listed in the official patch notes, leading many to think it was a hidden adjustment to make the game more difficult.

It turns out this change happened by accident, and the team is now investigating what caused it.

Arc Raiders devs working on loot speed & fire rate fixes

In a message on the official Arc Raiders Discord, Community Manager Birdie explained that the issue is unintentional and the team is already looking into it.

They didn’t say when the issue would be resolved, but since the developers know about it, we can expect a fix to be released soon.

Players noticed another issue: some weapons are firing slower than they used to after the Highwinds update. While it wasn’t a missed bug, it appears the fire rate unintentionally changed. A Community Admin named Ossen confirmed this wasn’t a deliberate adjustment to weaken the weapons, and the development team is already looking into it.

She responded that they’ve received reports about the fire rate changes and are currently looking into the issue. They’ll provide updates as they become available.

Players are eager to see these issues resolved, as Arc Raiders has plenty more content planned for release in 2026.
