French police have arrested two streamers in connection with the death of Jean Pormanove. He died last year after allegedly being tortured for ten days and nights, with the events streamed online. The investigation is still ongoing.
Raphaël Graven, known online as Pormanove, passed away on August 18th at 46 years old while broadcasting live on the platform Kick. According to French news reports, he had been subjected to intense and sustained harassment during lengthy streams with fellow creators Owen ‘Naruto’ Cenazendotti and Safine Hamadi in the days before his death.
French news outlets reported that the ten days before his death were filled with intense hardship. This involved fellow content creators Owen Cenazendotti (known as ‘Naruto’) and Safine Hamadi, and included a long livestream featuring harsh physical challenges, a complete lack of sleep, and the consumption of dangerous substances.
Honestly, this whole thing has become a really big deal in the French streaming world – everyone’s watching to see what happens next. It’s gotten a ton of attention!

Cenazendotti and Hamadi claim they weren’t responsible and say any activity was agreed upon by everyone involved. An autopsy found no direct evidence that someone else caused Pormanove’s death. During the funeral, Pormanove’s mother publicly supported the streamers, describing them as kind people who always treated her son well.
French streamers face multiple charges after Jean Pormanove’s death
Following a thorough investigation, both men are now in custody, despite previous claims to the contrary. Reports from Le Monde indicate they face several charges, such as assault, encouraging hatred, mistreating a vulnerable individual, and sharing violent recordings.
The judge explained that these actions involve taking control of police evidence as part of the investigation that began in December 2024.
I first heard about the investigation back in December 2024, quite a while before Pormanove sadly passed away. Apparently, the authorities started looking into things after seeing some really disturbing footage. It showed him being verbally abused, physically assaulted – like being hit and having his hair pulled – and even shot at with paintball guns, all while he was livestreaming. It was awful to see, and it’s what initially brought all this to light.
According to Entrevue, individuals involved can be held for up to 48 hours. This period could be extended with approval from a judge. Investigators are currently working to understand the extent of the alleged wrongdoing and if it breaks any French laws.

As of now, no formal charges have been filed.
This situation has also brought renewed attention to other groups connected to Pormanove. In December, officials started looking into his previous streaming group, Lokal, which reportedly reappeared on Twitch as OGK Decoy. The channel, run by Gwen Cenazendotti – brother of streamer Owen ‘Naruto’ Cenazendotti – is facing accusations of trying to avoid being monitored while continuing to feature scripted, humiliating content with new content creators.
After the death of Pormanove, French officials tried to shut down Kick across the country, worried about public safety. But a court disagreed and refused to allow the ban, deciding it was too extreme.
