Fox’s new series, Memory of a Killer, is based on a Belgian film and stars Patrick Dempsey in the lead role, marking his return to network TV. Dempsey is joined by several well-known actors. Though he’s also appeared in movies, many viewers will remember him as Derek Shepherd from his eleven seasons on Grey’s Anatomy.
I’m really excited about Memory Of A Killer! It’s great to see Dempsey back on network TV, and this role is something else. He plays a former hitman who’s starting to lose his memory, which throws a huge wrench into his relationship with the criminal organization he’s been secretly working for. It adds a lot of tension and makes for a really compelling story, honestly.
I watched the premiere of Memory of a Killer on January 25th, and while opinions were a bit mixed, I’m really intrigued to see where the story goes this season. The cast is fantastic and clearly dedicated to bringing this complex story to life. I think they’re a huge reason the show has potential, and I’m excited to tune in every Monday at 9 p.m. ET on Fox to see how it all unfolds.
Patrick Dempsey As Angelo Doyle
Date Of Birth: January 13, 1966
- Active Since: 1983
Patrick Dempsey, born in Lewiston, Maine, became famous for his role as Dr. Derek Shepherd on the long-running TV show Grey’s Anatomy. Though he started acting in films like Can’t Buy Me Love in 1987, his career really gained momentum in the early 2000s with movies like Sweet Home Alabama and Enchanted, all while continuing to appear on Grey’s Anatomy.
Patrick Dempsey is back on television after taking time off to become a racecar driver. His new role as Aaron Spencer in Dexter: Original Sin is quite different from his popular part as Dr. Shepherd, the charming neurosurgeon. Both characters are a big change from Angelo Doyle, the role he played in Memory of a Killer.
Angelo is a highly-regarded and feared hitman with a hidden life, featured in Memory Of A Killer. His world is turned upside down when he receives a diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimer’s, especially as he’s asked to complete one final, dangerous job.
Michael Imperioli As Dutch

- Active Since: 1985
Michael Imperioli, born in Mount Vernon, New York, became well-known for his role as Christopher Moltisanti on The Sopranos. This performance earned him critical praise and helped launch a successful career in television and film. He’s since appeared in popular shows like The White Lotus and Law & Order. Imperioli is highly regarded for his ability to portray complex, emotionally driven characters, especially those struggling with difficult choices.
Dutch, played by Imperioli in Memory Of A Killer, is Angelo’s close, longtime friend and partner in crime. While he appears to be a successful chef and restaurant owner in the Bronx, this is actually a cover for their criminal activities. Dutch also acts as a mentor to Angelo, which creates tension and difficulties in their relationship, especially as Angelo’s health declines.
Richard Harmon As Joe
Date Of Birth: August 18, 1991

- Active Since: 2003
Richard Harmon, a Canadian actor from Mississauga, Ontario, gained widespread recognition for his role as John Murphy in The 100. He’s also appeared in popular shows like Smallville and The Flash, consistently bringing depth and nuance to his performances. His move to a series like Memory of a Killer feels natural, as he excels at portraying complex and intense characters.
In the series Memory of a Killer, Harmon plays Joe, a hitman who’s quickly becoming valuable to Angelo and Dutch. Joe handles important tasks like scouting locations and managing logistics, but he’s in a difficult position because he sees Angelo’s Alzheimer’s progressing. This puts Joe in a potentially dangerous spot, as his knowledge of Angelo’s condition could unintentionally harm the man he respects.
Odeya Rush As Maria
Date Of Birth: May 12, 1997

- Active Since: 2009
I’ve been following Odeya Rush for a while now. She’s originally from Haifa, Israel, and really started to get noticed with roles in films like Lady Bird and The Giver. What I appreciate about her is how subtly powerful she is in both independent and bigger budget movies. She’s also been making a splash on TV lately – I enjoyed seeing her in the sci-fi series Pantheon, and her part in Memory Of A Killer seems like a great, more extended role for her. She’s definitely one to watch!
In the film Memory of a Killer, Sheryl Rush portrays Maria, the daughter of Angelo who married young and has settled into a peaceful life with her husband, Jeff. She’s pregnant and everything seems to be going well until secrets from her father’s past come to light, forcing her to make difficult choices. As Angelo’s mental state declines, Maria finds herself increasingly drawn into the dangerous world he’s kept hidden.

He’s gained a reputation for his ability to bring both depth and a charming lightness to his performances in a variety of dramatic and genre shows.
Dave, played by Gadiot in Memory Of A Killer, is a detective in the quiet town of Hudson Springs. He happens to live next door to Angelo, unaware that his neighbor is a highly dangerous hitman. As Dave investigates local crimes, he starts to uncover connections that lead back to Angelo. Adding to his complications, Dave develops feelings for Maria, who is already in a relationship and expecting a child.
