Marvel recently published a video showcasing Doctor Doom and his home country, Latveria. In Marvel comics, Latveria is a fictional nation in Eastern Europe, specifically in the Banat region, and is ruled by Doom. It’s portrayed as a highly advanced country, filled with technology and inventions created by Doom himself, including robots and powerful weapons. With Doctor Doom set to be a major villain in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, Marvel is actively promoting his background and importance to fans.
A new episode of Marvel’s YouTube series, Marvel Superheroes: What The?!, is now available. This installment features Doctor Doom giving viewers a tour of Latveria, showcasing its culture and history.

A four-minute animated video features Doctor Doom promoting vacations in his country, Latveria. In the video, Doom enthusiastically explains why Latveria is an ideal getaway, highlighting its safety and the fact that it’s free from superheroes. The video also briefly shows his Doombots, emphasizing that they provide constant security.

The video highlighted some of Latveria’s attractions, including Lake Doom. It also showed Namor and the Talokans attacking, with Doctor Doom capturing tourists to use as bargaining chips with the underwater nation. Other things to see and do in Latveria include Doomland, a theme park, a comedy club, and the yearly Doomsday Festival.

At the video’s conclusion, Doom proposed offering guests time-loop vacations, ensuring their trip could go on forever.

This video is a parody, and it’s notable that it’s coming out now, so close to the release of Avengers: Doomsday later this year.
I’m so excited! It looks like Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the MCU, but this time as the villain, Victor von Doom, in the new movie, Doomsday. And the cast is incredible – Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Chris Hemsworth, and a ton of other stars are all going to be in it! We can finally see Avengers: Doomsday in theaters on December 18, 2026.
The MCU’s Latveria Is Expected to be a Major Location in Avengers: Doomsday

In The Fantastic Four: First Steps, a subtle reference to Doctor Doom appeared during a scene resembling a United Nations meeting. An empty seat with a ‘Latveria’ label hinted that Victor von Doom is present in this universe (Earth-828) but chooses not to assist the Fantastic Four with the Galactus threat.
Doctor Doom showed up briefly after the credits, revealing his intention to use Franklin Richards in a scheme to control the Multiverse. Because this was his only appearance in the movie, it strongly suggests that Latveria will be a key setting in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
Doom’s origins are largely a mystery, and the upcoming Doomsday film could reveal more about his homeland through flashbacks. The movie might also culminate in a final showdown between Doom and the Avengers in Latveria, with the fate of the Multiverse hanging in the balance.
The upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars movie might feature a storyline centered around Doom’s Battleworld, offering a glimpse of his ideal version of his homeland, Latveria, and showcasing its strength. This could also be where he keeps troublesome heroes locked up.
