Xbox Series X|S Game Canceled Four Days Ahead Of Release

A game that was scheduled to launch on Xbox Series X/S was unexpectedly canceled just four days before release, disappointing players. However, 2026 is already proving to be a great year for gaming, with several exciting titles on the way. These include the 3.0 update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Code Vein 2, and others. In addition to January releases, February will see the arrival of Resident Evil Requiem.

A new game collection, Nickelodeon Splat Pack, is launching on January 30th for several platforms, but surprisingly, it won’t be available on Xbox Series X/S. Gematsu reports that Limited Run Games, the game’s publisher, confirmed the Xbox release was unexpectedly canceled.

This Xbox Game Was Scrapped Days Before Launch

Nickelodeon Splat Pack’s Xbox Version Was Quietly Canceled

Mighty Rabbit Studios and Limited Run Games have teamed up to release a collection of classic Nickelodeon games called the Nickelodeon Splat Pack. It includes three titles: GUTS, Rocko’s Modern Life: Spunky’s Dangerous Day, and both versions of AAAHH!!! Real Monsters. Limited Run Games announced the release date of January 26th on X (formerly Twitter).

The announcement stated the game would launch on January 30th, but didn’t say anything about a version for Xbox. It was later revealed that the Xbox Series X/S version of Nickelodeon Splat Pack was cancelled very close to the release date. The reason for this cancellation remains unknown, as the game’s developers and publishers haven’t offered an explanation.

It’ll Still Release On Other Platforms

Nickelodeon Splat Pack Arrives On PlayStation, Switch, & PC

Good news for fans of classic Nickelodeon games! Even though the Nickelodeon Splat Pack won’t be released on Xbox Series X/S, it’s still coming to other systems. You can play Nickelodeon Splat Pack on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC (through Steam) starting January 30th.

These games are updated versions for today’s consoles. Aaahh!!! Real Monsters first came out on Sega Genesis and Super NES, and GUTS and Rocko’s Modern Life: Spunky’s Dangerous Day were originally on Super NES. Beyond the fun of revisiting these classics, the remasters include new features like a rewind function and the freedom to save your progress at any time, instead of being limited to specific checkpoints.

The Nickelodeon Splat Pack is set to evoke fond memories of the 90s. Unfortunately, players on Xbox Series X/S won’t be able to experience it, and it’s frustrating that the cancellation of this version was announced so close to its planned release with little explanation.
