We’ll cover the intriguing story, the incredibly talented cast (featuring Oscar winners!), how many episodes to expect, who’s directing, when it will premiere, where it was filmed, and all the other important details. Get ready, here’s a complete rundown of The Madison, the next installment in the Yellowstone universe.

‘The Madison’ is Set to Premiere in March 2026

Paramount+

Filming for Season 2 of The Madison has finished, following shoots in New York, Montana, Dallas, and Fort Worth. Season 1 was filmed from August to December 2024, and Season 2 from September to December 2025. With over a year spent editing the first season, it premiered on Paramount+ in March 2026, and Season 2 is expected to air sometime later in the year.

Now that everything is finalized, The Madison will debut on Paramount+ on March 14, 2026. While the exact release plan isn’t confirmed yet, it’s likely that new episodes will become available each week, similar to other shows on Paramount+.

‘The Madison’ is Already Confirmed for Season 2

Paramount+

Work on the new series, The Madison, started in May 2023 when Paramount+ approved a spin-off of Yellowstone created by Taylor Sheridan. The series, produced with MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions (Sheridan’s company), was officially named The Madison in August 2024.

In August 2025, the companies behind MTV Entertainment Studios, Paramount Global, and Skydance Media joined forces to create Paramount Skydance (formerly Paramount Global Media). After this merger, Paramount Television Studios took over production of The Madison and quickly renewed it for a second season. Even though Taylor Sheridan’s contract with Paramount ends in 2028, The Madison will continue for at least two more seasons with his creative direction.

What Will ‘The Madison’ Be About?

Paramount+

While Yellowstone and its related shows have focused on the Dutton family and their ranch in Montana, The Madison will tell a completely new story. This new series centers on the Clyburns, a family from New York who move to rural southwest Montana after a heartbreaking event, hoping a change of scenery will help them heal.

Stacy Clyburn, the family’s grandmother, is prioritizing her emotional healing and peace of mind after a devastating family tragedy. She lives with her husband, Preston, their daughters Abigail and Paige, and Abigail’s two daughters, Bridgett and Macy, and is focusing on moving forward.

After experiencing a devastating loss, a family leaves the busy city life of New York to find peace and healing in nature. This is the story told in The Madison. The first season has six episodes, all directed by Christina Alexandra Voros, who has also worked on Yellowstone and 1883. The pilot episode was written by Taylor Sheridan, as many fans will expect.

‘The Madison’ Cast

Paramount+

Featuring what many consider the best cast in the series, The Madison stars Michelle Pfeiffer (known for Scarface) and Kurt Russell (The Thing) as Stacy and Preston Clyburn. Pfeiffer is a highly acclaimed actress with three Oscar nominations, and has collaborated with some of the most celebrated performers in the industry. Russell, a beloved actor, brings a uniquely American charm that fits Sheridan’s style perfectly.

Stacy and Preston have a daughter named Abigail Reese, who is portrayed by Beau Garrett (known for Firefly Lane). Abigail is a mother herself, with two daughters: Bridget Reese, played by Amiah Miller (My Best Friend’s Exorcism), and Macy Reese, played by Alaina Pollack (On Call). Tanc Sade (1923) plays Dallas Reese, the father of Bridget and Macy.

Okay, so in the movie, Elle Chapman – you might recognize her from A Man Called Otto – plays Paige McIntosh, who is Stacy and Preston’s youngest daughter. She’s married to Russell McIntosh, played by the actor from Suits, making him their son-in-law. It’s a pretty key family dynamic in the story!
