A critically acclaimed horror movie is coming to a new streaming service very soon – in less than a week, in fact! Following the breakout success of his 2017 film, Get Out, the director released another chilling story in 2019.
On February 1st, a wide variety of new movies and shows will become available, offering something for everyone. Horror fans can look forward to the addition of Us to Paramount+, where it will join other popular titles like Vampire in Brooklyn and Run.
Jordan Peele wrote and directed a terrifying story about Adelaide, played by Lupita Nyong’o. As a child, Adelaide had a disturbing encounter with someone who looked exactly like her, leaving her deeply traumatized. Years later, while on vacation with her family and friends, Adelaide finds herself and her loved ones hunted by terrifying duplicates of themselves.
Lupita Nyong’o stars in Us alongside Winston Duke as her husband, and Shahadi Wright Joseph and Evan Alex as their children. Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker play their friends, Kitty and Josh Tyler, who have children of their own, Becca and Lindsey, played by Cali and Noelle Sheldon. The film also includes appearances by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Anna Diop, Madison Curry, Ashley McKoy, Dusin Ybarra, Kara Hayward, and features a voice performance by Jordan Peele.
When Jordan Peele’s Us came out in 2019, I was completely blown away. It wasn’t just a critical hit, but a huge commercial success too – it made over $256 million worldwide on a budget of just $20 million! The film really swept awards season, racking up a total of 63 nominations and winning 40 of them. Some highlights included a Black Reel Award for Jordan Peele’s incredible screenplay and a well-deserved NAACP Image Award for Lupita Nyong’o’s phenomenal performance.
Currently, the film has a rating based on over 550 reviews from critics, according to Rotten Tomatoes. Viewers have given it a 61% score, based on more than 10,000 ratings from verified users.
What’s Next for Us Creator Jordan Peele?
Usually, fans would be excited about Jordan Peele’s next movie, but currently, neither he nor his production company, Monkeypaw Productions, have announced any upcoming films. However, there is one project that’s already been confirmed and is in development.
Created by Kojima Productions and led by Hideo Kojima, with writing contributions from both Kojima and Jordan Peele, OD was first announced in 2022 at the Xbox Games Showcase. Kojima mentioned then that he was collaborating with Xbox on a new, deeply engaging horror game that would utilize cloud gaming technology.
Viewers first saw a preview of OD in 2023 with a trailer featuring Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier. Sadly, Kier passed away in November 2025 at 81 years old. Following his death, Kojima announced that filming on the project would begin again sometime in the following year.
Us will be available for streaming on Paramount+ beginning February 1.
