Timothée Chalamet’s new film, Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie, is a big success for A24. The movie has received excellent reviews and currently holds a 94% ‘Certified Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The new movie, featuring Odessa A’zion, Fran Drescher, and Gwyneth Paltrow, has become increasingly popular. On January 11, 2026, Timothée Chalamet received his first Golden Globe Award – he was nominated for five in total – for his role in the film. Less than two weeks later, the movie earned nine Academy Award nominations, including top honors like Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor for Chalamet.
According to data from The Numbers, Marty Supreme achieved both awards recognition and box office success on January 22nd, surpassing $100 million in global ticket sales. As of today, the film has earned a total of $100.4 million worldwide, with $82.7 million coming from North American theaters and $17.7 million from international theaters.
Timothée Chalamet’s latest film is now the fourth movie from A24 to earn over $100 million worldwide. It follows Materialists ($106.4 million), Civil War ($127.3 million), and Everything Everywhere All At Once ($145 million). Although Everything Everywhere is still A24’s biggest global hit, Marty Supreme has become their highest-grossing film in the United States and Canada.
Although Marty Supreme is doing very well in theaters for an A24 film, it needed to earn a lot of money to be successful. It’s actually A24’s most costly movie so far, with a budget of around $70 million. This means it likely needed to earn between $150 and $175 million to cover its costs and start making a profit.
Even if Marty Supreme doesn’t become a huge financial hit, it can still be considered successful. A24 also values the recognition and respect that come with awards just as much as how much money a film makes.
The success of Marty Supreme, including its Oscar nominations and Golden Globe win, has put A24 in the spotlight. If Timothée Chalamet wins his first Academy Award for the film – after being nominated twice before for Call Me By Your Name and A Complete Unknown – that attention will likely grow even further.
As a huge movie fan, I’m really excited to see how well Marty Supreme is doing. It’s clearly resonating with both regular moviegoers and the Academy, which tells me A24 has another winner on their hands – a really smart addition to their already impressive collection of films.
