I just saw another video online of an Amazon driver seemingly taking a family’s cat! It’s really concerning, and it looks like Amazon is now investigating what happened. Hopefully, they’ll get to the bottom of it and make sure something like this doesn’t happen again.
Following a comparable event in California just weeks ago, another incident has come to light in England. Doorbell camera footage captured a delivery driver picking up a cat from a property and carrying it away.
On January 19th in Elland, near Halifax, a family grew worried when their cat, Nora, didn’t come home. Because Nora is sick and needs regular medication, her family is particularly concerned about her being missing.
The family reviewed their doorbell camera and saw an Amazon driver deliver a package to their home on Park Avenue. The driver, wearing a bright jacket, rang the bell and waited, while Nora was visible inside. Surprisingly, instead of handing the package to someone, the driver picked up the family’s cat and left with it.
Crowther explained to YorkshireLive that his family was very concerned for Nora’s well-being, as she typically prefers to stay near home and isn’t comfortable in new places.
We were shocked and upset to see the driver hanging around, clearly waiting for a chance to act. It was a complete surprise when he grabbed her and forced her into his car, he explained.
Cat returned after Amazon driver snatches it
I was so relieved to hear that the cat stolen from Park Avenue has been found! Apparently, West Yorkshire Police got a report around 2:30 PM, and thankfully, they were able to track it down and get it back home safe and sound to its owner. What a happy ending!
“A crime of theft has been recorded and inquiries remain ongoing,” they said.
Crowther, his partner Sarah, and their daughters were overjoyed and relieved to have their dog, Nora, home. They adopted Nora from the RSPCA in 2022 and were especially worried about her disappearance because she’s such a friendly and approachable dog.
Mr. Crowther stated he informed Amazon about the incident but was unhappy with their first reaction and the help he received. He said they surprisingly asked him to put a price on his cat.

“How can you put a value on somebody’s pet?” he said.
Amazon has since confirmed it is investigating the incident and is in contact with police.
This situation is similar to a recent case in California where a cat was taken by a delivery driver and hasn’t been found. Amazon has confirmed the driver involved in that incident – who was working for a delivery partner – was terminated.
